"Low" was based on a play by the same name that ran in Hollywood in 2005.
The film was workshopped over a four year period through improvisations.
The play originally featured Charles Manson, but was cut from the film. The actor (Manfred Welles) ended up in a cameo appearance as the Vagrant.
Drew Richards (The Manager) was a last minute replacement. The original role was written for a Cockney actor.
The film is inspired by both Sonny Liston and Chet Baker, both of whom met an untimely end under mysterious circumstances.
