The Hunt For Suspect X
ccthemovieman-122 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Remember "Suspect X" from an earlier episode, the one in which the hot blonde/cold-blooded serial killer escapes? Well, she's b-a-a-a-a-ck!

Without trying to give too much away, the mysterious "Suspect X" has the CSI men and women coming-and-going as she appears to have been killed by someone more deadly than her....someone with a huge grudge. Later, as they are on to that person's trail, it now looks as if the dead woman they thought was Suspect X might be a decoy, made to look like her! It gets pretty wild.

There are other subplots and such in this episode, too, but the main thing is finding "Suspect X" (Kam Heskin), and that is done via a dramatic chase-and-shoot sequence with her and "Mac" (Gary Sinise). That action scene is very hokey with both professional shooters taking 30-50 shots each from close range and missing. Come on! This Uma Thurman-type-Kill Bill killer deserved a better ending and more cat-and-mouse intelligence than what was seen in this episode, to be frank. That doesn't mean it wasn't fun to watch: it was; it just couldn't live up to the first part of the story.

Ridiculous ending!
Eighty-Days23 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
A professional assassin is recognized, so she goes into a construction site to escape from *one* policeman following her. So what would a professional assassin do? Enter the site, draw her gun, then wait right there for the cop to enter, and shoot him! What is this poor actresses's character forced to do instead. Run, and take cover behind a column to fire at Mac...then run some more...and while running she gets hit in the chest and lives for several minutes to blabber on about it....

Ridiculous...

It should have been much more cat and mouse...there was no reason to fire all those guns...and for her to miss and Mac to succeed....blah!

Low budget?
karl-hungus-12 February 2022
This episode was ridiculous from the beginning but the shootout at the end was laughable from a special effects point of view. I realize the CSI franchise is pretty expensive to produce but having gun shots look that bad and not even leave a mark when they hit a column is rookie level.

Poorly Written
cpl_overby31 May 2017
This episode was very poorly written..... Professional Assassin caught and killed "too" easily. While yes she "could have" fallen for the trap..... She would have had "multiple" avenues of egress from the meet site. She would have "survailed" the meet site for a long time, before attempting contact with the mark. I agree with Barbera's review that once behind concealment, she would have waited for her threat to come to her and ended it. But since she ran, first thing would have been to loose the shoes, then take cover from another vantage point. For a "trained" killer, she fired her gun like an "amature", This villain had "at least" two more episodes to go before being caught.

Eh... Too Easy!
meganfenton2528 May 2019
There were some interesting plot twists in this, but it was too easy in the end. To be fair, I think this came following the writers strike, so they didn't have enough time left in the season to do what they wanted.
