The plot was too good. The rating currently 7.6 is not justified as per me where lots downgraded series rated over 8. Never seen so many layers of mystery in one movie or series. It is very eye pleasing to see how the story forwards with one mystery give birth of another almost in every episode. Incredible story. I recommend to watch but with patience.

8/10 is my rating. This is a 2020 South Korean supernatural crime drama with 16, 60 minute, episodes.
Dong Baek/Sung Ju-ho (Yoo Seung-ho) has the power to read living people's memories a skill which is well used as a criminal detective yet has made him many enemies within the police community as there is a fear that who needs the rest of them when he is around. Han Sun-mi (Lee Se-young) profile to the extent that she may as well be able to read people's minds. At first, she is not a fan of the arrogant, shoot at the hip Dong Baek and even suspects he could be involved in some of the serial crimes she is investigating. After all several of the crime scenes have the trade mark of someone with supernatural abilities. However, the more the two encounter each other in the course of their work, the more they find they have some things from their deep dark pasts in common. And they are not the only one that knows it, the serial killer seems to be using their past to draw them toward someone future event he planned especially for them. Every clue they uncover reveals involvement of very high level public figures and more ties to events that occurred 20 years ago. Can they beat the serial killer at his own game and uncover the mysteries of their past?
The suspense in this was incredible. Had me on the edge of my seat frequently. I really liked the memorist character and found his abilities fascinating. Sun-mi was very talented as a criminal profiler and the interplay between the two was very interesting. They made a great, if at times reluctant, team. There were a lot of characters to keep track of so pictures with names and faces would be a helpful guide otherwise it is easy to lose track of who they are talking about at times. There were a lot of twist and turns and they did a great job of keeping you guessing. I felt like it was so complicated at times I would lose interest. If I had a character map or guide it would have helped. I also wish the rest of the law enforcement community was not so down on Dong Baek as he spent a significant amount of time hiding and skirting to investigate. I love romance so was a little disappointed there was no real romance. I really liked Dong Baek's partners and the bromance between them was very heart warming. This would be a good one to watch for someone that likes complexity and does not mind or actually prefers it focuses on suspense, thriller and not romance.

" Memorist " was a heavy drama, but with a nice mystery.
The plot was packed with action, twists, and drama that at some point it got tiring. However, the two main characters were dominating without overshadowing each other, or having a romantic plot to follow, which would have ruined their dynamics and the atmosphere of the drama. Actually, all the characters were complex and interesting.
The fantasy element was handled perfectly as well. And the mystery was unpredictable enough to keep things interesting till the very ending. The friendship of the police team was, in addition, a nice comedy relief.
Finally, the performances were great from all the members of the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

This show is one of the best underrated shows I ever watched, am still watching it and it's a binge watch, I don't know why no one ever mentioned it here on imdb, but man I just recommend it, don't trust the rating it should be 8.9 overall, or even 9, it's just a special show wow

Someone made a review saying it was horrible because of the acts, but not the acting, that person give a poor vote of 5 mainly because he/she couldn't take the acts since it's really full of parental guidance.... This kind of rating is quite unfair... If this is not the kind of show you want to watch because of its violence, you have no right to make a review. Your review will be so bias! And take note, this is a thriller type of tv series. Not your usual romcom genre.... This is a deep drama. Violence is expected!
Anyway, this series is worth watching! But, warning, it does have a lot of parental guidance acts, but surely, the story, and the acting of the actors is really convincing! It's a must watch! It is superb and excellent. The actors especially the leading actors were magnificent. This show deserves a high rating! Deserves a high recognition. Brilliantly made! Not your kind of predictable K-drama!

While the show is reasonably original and well acted, at some point it simply becomes too complex for its own good.
So many villains, motivations, killings, lost memories, red herrings, that by episode 12 watching this show became a chore. In some scenes, actors literally have to give lengthy verbal explanations about what the heck is going on. Some aspects confused me because in some scenes a character would have supernatural abilities and in other scene suddenly not.
It's choke-full of actively unpleasant characters, so it's not like watching it gives much joy anyway.
The two leads are fine, although I'm not a big fan of this Korean obsession with dolling people up. I just can't take it seriously when two perfectly made up and dressed individuals in expensive ballroom shoes are trying to present themselves as hard-boiled detectives.
Having said that, it could be worth a watch.

Wow this was a roller coaster ride from start to finish! The plot is intense and full of twists and turns and it is written really well so it felt very unpredictable but also made sense. I really enjoyed the telepathic element to the story, it added an interesting twist that was done very well. The acting was also very well done, with some really good side characters that you can't help but like. The soundtrack was atmospheric and perfectly tense, helping create a tension that isn't broken until the very last episode. There were NO slow episodes, and the pacing was perfect, unlike a lot of KDrama's that feel a bit slow around episode 10-11. This was a wild ride that was incredibly enjoyable to watch!
Definitely an underrated drama!!!

I've watched over 100 Kdramas and this is my favourite one. If you are looking for some thrill, Memorist is the choice for you. It doesn't have any unnecessary dialogues or cheesy moments. Some of the best twists in the plot can be seen along with the brain stimulating suspense. Plus, all the actors have done a great job. If someone is not satisfied with this drama, it is highly possible that he/she did not understand or think about it while watching it. I was unable to control my excitement at the end of every episode. I highly recommend watching this drama.

The beginning was unbelievable boring, it took about halfway through the drama before it started to be "decent" enough. I miss the days when thriller/mystery didn't feel the need to pad itself with side cases to keep viewers attention. I always find this structure to be flawed even when these side cases are slightly related to the main one. In the case of this drama, I would prefer if it was a constant confrontation with the main villain instead of sprinkled hints and tons of flashbacks. Speaking of villains, none of them interested me, was kinda disappointed after 16 episodes of teasing of the masked villain. Low-key kinda like an anime villain. The villain identity felt like a last minute decision instead of a calculated one. The young leads were fine but a bit bland, I would prefer more rigid actors which would suit the drama better.
Watch full series...its best.

Story is ultimate....just watch all episode.... because it takes time to understand whats going on...but when you understand it...its awesome.....
Highly recommend this to all who is searching ...that this show is good or not...

I do not understand how come this drama is not in top. It was as engaging as some top korean crime thriller like Mouse or flower of evil. It was released at the same time of flower of evil. I heard about flower of evil everywhere at internet but never heard of this show until now. I've even watched beyond evil and it has some 8+ rating. This show also deserve 8+ rating in my opinion. I have watched many k drama mostly crime thriller. And honestly they do stretch their show to 16 episodes unnecessarily. Many good show with great plot ruined by this practice. I do not mind their number of episode if they have tight engaging storyline. Unfortunately they do this very often. Recent example would be Big Mouth.
Anyways, this was a great show for me. Storyline was great and some scene were so smartly done. Main leads were amazing and captivating and supporting cast was great. There were no annoying character in my opinion. Do watch this.

I can't stand most of the scenes because it was so horrible, the acts not the acting. Every scene makes my heart ache and scared to my wits. I couldn't go through the entire drama, I was wondering whether this was shown on local tvs. It needs a lot of patental guidance. The acting were so convincing but I was disappointed that they did not pursue a love line and that sometimes the case was so obvious but they prolong the scenarios.

This show was started well then exploded into becoming a binge fest for me. Twists and turns left me scared and intrigued. The characters and the story are so fresh and unlike any thriller I've watched especially in kdrama land in the last 15 years. There's SOOO much happening every episode. Sadly, the ending was not well thought out IMO and was too quick. The last arc really should've been covered in more episodes and the few new actors introduced near the ending needed to be better qualified for their roles. I don't want to give it away but the last 4 episodes really disappointed me as this show was so close to being perfection. Regardless, I highly recommend the Memorist.

I never read the webtoon and at first I thought that this drama would include some crime with different suspects and some plot story, for some reason I get trigerred with some scenes that didn't make sense (for me), like.. I know it just a drama but can they make it more logic since this is wasn't that fiction at all..
1. When the female lead visiting the suspects house, she wear a high-heels, pointed high-heels, how you run (if it was needed) use that heels bruh.
2. When the cops caught the suspects and accidently touch the suspect and kinda 'hypnotized/their memory was remove', why they didn't shot him in the leg or arm or any bodyparts that didn't 'cause death since both of them was holding a gun (I know if they shot him we would NEVER know that he got superpower that similar with the main male lead, but it still triggered me)
I'm still in episode 8 and I don't know if I can hold my temper back to finish this drama.
