Nice idea, not overwhelming new
jay-cgn1 August 2021
The basic idea of the movie is good, but nothing we never saw before, just brought into a modern setting. Some nice jokes, but few too little. The key problem of the movie is a highly unsympathetic female lead character. You never really get the feeling that you want the two main characters to get together, because there is so little that makes her likable. I'm not sure if it might be the female actor as well. The male lead instead is very likable which brings a big disbalance. But overall it is a typical problem with current German movies, having annoying characters to be more realistic.

Making love ... without love
kosmasp26 April 2022
Is it possible to be intimate with someone without actually loving that person/individual? The title suggests that an entire generation is actually doing exactly that. And if you are within that generation and you are in love, you are the exception of the rule. Of course that would be nitpicking and only true of the German title the movie received.

It would also do a disservice to the movie and the very well written characters. Considering all the people involved in this, I am quite amazed this is such a short movie. And still works for what its worth. Now of course for that to happen, we have to check some cliche boxes. That being said, all the actors involved do their best and it shows on screen.

You may feel that the main characters are a bit unsympathetic - I would disagree with that statement, but it is something that will be in the eye of the beholder. A german comedy that dares ... that takes relationships and comedies about them and spins them quite a bit ... also there is a bunny in this. And while you should keep them in pairs, this is a movie and just the fact we get one cute little critter thrown in this one really fills my heart. I guess I am a bit biased because of the small little hoppy cameo we have here - ah well, it is what it is. Which includes quite a bit of nudity as you'd expect from a European/German movie - so hopefully you are not frigid or anything like that.
