The secret is out
lesseroftwoweevils26 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This was an excellent episode. The effects were fairly convincing, the story was gripping, and the cast was better than anything that is featured on the NBC prime-time lineup. As the episode opens, the team at the ARC has to deal with the nightmarish reality that everything they have tried to keep secret may become known, when a Columbian Mammoth stampedes along the M25, in a traffic jam of all times! And the sinister plot of Helen and Leek is finally reveal when Nick sets a trap and Leek uses a mind controlled future predator to attack Lester. All in all, this episode can be considered above the series's average, which is all ready amazing.

The traitor is finally exposed
Tweekums28 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As this, the penultimate episode of the second series, opens it looks as though the possibility of keeping the news of incursions by prehistoric creatures secret any longer is pretty slim as a mammoth rampages through traffic on the M25! Most of the team rush to the scene where they are able to capture the beast but Stephen decides that his loyalties lie with Helen; something that later gets him kicked off the team. With the mammoth dealt with Cutter tells the rest of the team about his suspicions concerning the traitor; they set a trap and catch Jenny. She explains that she had been sent by Oliver Leek. Meanwhile back at the ARC Leek decides it is time to get rid of Lester by trapping him in the facility with a future predator!

This was a pretty impressive episode; the opening was good as the mammoth looked pretty real and there was a good sense of jeopardy as well as some humour. Once that was dealt with we got to this week's real story; the identity of Leek as the traitor and exposing the fact that Helen is working with him. Leek's attempt to kill Lester gave the latter a chance to show that he can be pretty tough when he needs to be; Ben Miller did an impressive job in the role. There were plenty of tense moments all leading up to a cliff-hanger ending that set things up for the season finale.

Lester is the man!
sinceverona27 July 2009
When a mammoth that passed through anomaly appears on highway and starts to destroy everything on his path, a mother and her small child are trapped. A man tries to help her but he is killed in front of her by mammoth. When Nick and the team arrives, he ends up in a car with her, while Connor saves the woman's child. Nick tries to calm her but her screaming attracts mammoth that runs in their car and turn them over. When Nick runs from the car and plays live bait for the mammoth to get him to enter anomaly, it closes in front of him. His only hope is Connor who manages to open the door of a huge truck and capture the monster. The episode is full of surprises. I must say that the scene where Lester acts like Rambo and starts to shoot to kill the creature from the future who is being controlled by Oliver Leek is great. Stephen who once was a Helens student and had an affair with her, falls for her sensitive side, if she ever had one . Why Stephen did not get over Helen and why he lets her interfere and make him question his loyalty to Nick I really don't know. The scene when we see that she talks to Oliver over mobile and then finishes just when he enters the room was transparent to me. There is a woman who spends most of her time in the past, and yet Stephen doesn't ask her to whom she has just talk to.
