It's a (B-) Drama
famillelatrech24 May 2020
This drama was so good for the first half of it but the level just dropped down for the second half I could even say that the last 3 episodes were just not necessary.

The story was so interesting in the beginning. The concept is pretty original. Unfortunately, they couldn't finish it well and put the cherry on the top..

Overall, I had fun watching it but it could've definitely been much better and they could've finished it in the 13th episode... Really...

Good Enough
PennyReviews14 May 2020
" Find me in your memory " had an interesting start, but the ending got boring.

The first part was great, with a well constructed mystery, top notch cinematography, especially the scenes with the snow, the subtle and slow burn romance and the news broadcasting setting. The performances were pretty great from every actor and actress of the cast. The main couple, in addition, had chemistry, which helped with the odd romance.

However, the drama got out of hand towards the ending. There were a lot of cliche trops that were added into the plot and the mystery got tiring.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Good drama
menciamarzalh21 January 2021
Despite the harsh reviews, I decided to watch it and I have to tell you, I didn't regret it. The acting was splendid and, though the ending got a bit slow, I though it was a beautiful way of ending the story. It's actually a good drama, maybe not the best, but definitely worth watching. I recommend it.

Should have ended at episode 13
karenwmc14 February 2021
I would have given this series a 9 or even 10 star rating if it had ended at episode 13. The last 3 episodes were extremely boring and I could not wait for the drama to conclude. The two lead actors acted really well though, with very good chemistry. I am particularly drawn to the male lead's character - he is so charming in the drama and I am re-watching the first few episodes because of him.

Good story, good loking cast, enjoyable, and pretty realistic
rguddu_india22 February 2021
Genre: romance, love, disease, trauma, memory loss-gain, stalker, crime, mystery, kidnap, damsel in distress, news media, film industry, social media, fan comments.

Story: A girl was killed by a stalker 10 years ago. Her grieving boyfriend and female friend, meet as a news anchor and a celebrity actress. Both of them have suppressed diseases- he has extraordinary ability/disease to remember every bit in his past, thus making him suffer from that pain; while she has lost parts of her memory thus living as a naive/straightforward cheerful girl. She pursues him with all honesty and he eventually loves her back, overcoming his past trauma, the moral dilemma and social scorn (of dating his dead lover's friend), her memory regain, and the revengeful acts of the stalker against the duo.

The girl absolutely rocked it: a beautiful gleaming face, a lovely female voice, lovely smile, long curly hair. So sweet and so natural in the open-hearted girl avtaar. Often effortlessly funny, close to comedian role-- a rarity for a female actor in my view. Her crying parts are good too. Hajin of 'Find me in your Dreams' is now in the league of Jiuna of 'Full House', Jandi of 'Boys Over Flowers', and Jiho of 'Because this is my first Life'.

The male lead has a great male voice (fitting a news presenter), a great smile, decent face, a decent walk, non-showoff hair, ordinary in emotional parts.

Good side characters- the news channel owner couple, the girl's sister couple, the cold hearted professor bordering on 'mad scientist'. Two stalkers were presented, not very realistically- more like cliched madness. The guy's handling of the stalking events was good. The duo's (multiple) together sessions, with open confession from both sides, were absolutely beautiful.

16 episodes. Last 2 episodes ruined it for me: unnecessary breakup, cliched 'two years after', 'fated' re-meet, change of the girl's attitude from cheerful transparent to sombre serious reserved. 2 points deduct for that. The first 13 episodes were a treat to watch/experience.

One of the best recent Kdrama in my list: My Mister, Because This is my First Life, When Amelia Blooms, Dinner Mates, Find me in Your Memory, Stranger (2017), Waikiki-1.

Some popular recent kdrama that are not that good in my view: Waikiki-2, my strange hero, Love w Flaws, Weightlifting girl.., Strong girl.., Her private life, Love alarm, Kill me heal me, Mask, Introverted Boss, What's wrong with secretary kim, Secret(2013), Suspicious Partner, Tale of 9 tailed fox.

Anchornim
lmerana17 May 2020
Sometimes i hate the characters being so polite with each other even though they are already dating or married. It just ruins the chemistry or the romance between the leads. Also, although the kissing scene here was kinda romantic, overall, they did not look compatible in my opinion. The second leads were much more interesting.

Counting up to about five or six
alaningle77 January 2021
A news anchor who can remember everything becomes involved with an aspiring actress who cannot remember her past. Add a murderous stalker with links to both their pasts and we have an entertaining well acted story with excellent supporting roles. The interaction between the two leads was believable and the story is well paced and sixteen episodes is just right.

An OK drama
vishalatc19 May 2020
The first half of the Drama was great. There is a good mystery and storyline around the characters . But towards the end there were lot of cliches which made it boring towards the end. It felt like the producers wanted to wrap up the story in a sloppy way

good concept, wrong execution
ingridxxxxxx26 November 2021
Good start and concept, but the ending got boring. Plot goes really slow and a lot of unnecessary fill-in scenes. I'm left with not a single good scene to be frank. Could have stopped at 16 episodes. But the story is great - sad they didn't make it more compact and memorable.

Opposite attracts!
shareen_shany2 December 2021
It's important for any show that the leading actor & actress are beautiful to look, not grumpy, frown too much, sad or even having indigestion problem. Here both of them are nice to look at, she is not only pretty, sweet, good humour, sometimes cute & not tiring to look at. He is the opposite, stiff, emotionless, straight, matured yet thoughtful & handsome when he smiles. They compliment each other. It can be more swoonworthy if he is not stiff & show more passion like hugs & kisses her when he tells he loves her. Both of them just smile at each other.

The attending doctor butt's in the anchor life makes no sense, help wasn't asked or its not his place to worry! Doesnt they deserve to be happy together & especially him, he is allowed to have a life after 8 years of vivid memories. Why meet the murderer! An immoral scholar & unethical physician! At last his son gives him his thought on the matter!

This drama is full of details. It's a beautiful love story! I recommend to watch!

my third all-time fav kdrama after Goblin and Mr. Sunshine
douthy-2652323 January 2021
And I must confess that I have watched pretty much every single kdrama accessible to English-speaking audience out there.

Find Me In Your Memory is mature yet not too heavy-hearted - the female lead character is bubbly, light-hearted and youthful. At the same time, she is not dramatically insensible, like how most light-hearted female characters are stereotypically portrayed in kdramas - she has the intelligence and passion compatible to her position as an A-list actress.

A fine mixture of thriller, melancholy and romance (occasionally subtle comedy), it is dramatic enough for a fiction yet realistic enough for you to resonate with.

The ending is indeed quite disappointing, yet the original concepts, narrative style and cinematography are uniquely memorable.

I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT
winny-young29 January 2021
The story is very uplifting. I love the ending, I think their decisions are very relevant, imagine if we were in their shoes.. I love the chemistry between the two lead actors, despite the age difference, their interactions are just right...

I think it's a must watch drama! the anchornim character is my favourite! But her bubbly personality complete him!

Series had the potential, but waste of time.
rookiewookie10 June 2021
Series had potential bcz the crux of the story was awesome.

The story, character s and the lead roles unique conditions that make the whole crux of the plot were well carried out in first 2 episodes. But from the next it all went downhill - screenplay, the emotional connect,...

I think the male lead casting also didn't sit well in line with the story.

Wouldn't recommend if you are short on time.

olymphus-zeus16 November 2020
At the beginning of the film is good ... the ending makes you vomit! How can men be inconsistent and have no principles? When he has a good career, his girl wants him. After he resigned, his girlfriend left him. After having another career, the girl came and he accommodated him again, man ?! damn it! so cheap to be a man ?? if already gone why are you accepted again when you come? girls are not 5 seeds in this world? movie is not good !!! I made a 1 star rating

Predictable and Nonsensical
fake_moviestar24 October 2020
As other reviewers stated the first half of the drama was pretty interesting while the second half was quite boring. I would add to that sentiment that it was also ridiculously predictable. Predictability is not necessarily a bad thing, there are lots of times when predictable cliches are well done and give an emotional punch to a beloved couple in a drama. But in this case the plot itself was super predictable, as well as character reactions and even dialogue.

In addition there was this annoying and overused plot device of "coincidence equaling fate." I think even the writers knew this was silly as they actually had the characters mention that it was unrealistic, but then went ahead and had it happen to the characters anyway.

All this adds up to a pretty sub-par drama that at the end felt like a real waste - especially since the actors were very good and had decent performances despite the poor writing. I was particularly disappointed that the ML's memory "disease" which was only used as a plot device for the first few episodes and it never really is used again - all the missed opportunities for both cool scenes and angst!

Overall this was a miss for me.

Bad
Park_Min9 May 2023
Never seen a drama with a good start but flopped so hard and fast. As if there were two completely separate writers. Most of the story was packed in the first 2-3 episodes (out of 16) while the rest were almost filled with nothing. The reason behind the last episode being a time skip is because there was no content left and they had to air something for the 16th episode. Another major irrecoverable mess up were the characters. The villains had zero effort put into writing them. The female lead took the "stupid female lead" trope to a never seen before levels. Also, poor chemistry with the leads. In general, the drama progressively gotten worse with every passing minute without ever recovering. That's impressive!

Amazing show ... until it turns pathetic
td13925 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Let me start by saying I'm a huge Mun Ka Young fan. At first I was a bit skeptical to watch the show and one of the reasons was the age gap or should I say compatibility of the main leads. She's super youthful and sweet whereas he's more mature. But of course I had to watch it.

And the beginning was amazing. Straight away I feel in love with the ML. His character and the actors charisma was just captivating and the age gap worked in their favor. Mun Ka Young was in her usual element sweet and bubbly. I actually quite liked the so-called pushy element because it was complementing the backstory/setting of the FL - her being a celebrity and doing the chasing, but still being politely persistent. It gave character the additional depth and was the opposite of what you would expect from that character. The stalker (both stalkers) subplot was well made and kept the tension going. The supporting cast is phenomenal. The relationship with the young doctor. His mom. Everything was clicking.

Until everything falls apart in the span of 5 min in ep 12 I believe. SO MAD!

YES IT'S THE FIRST BREAK UP: They basically turn the FL lead into a spoiled entitled little brat. A true bonified diva. With all that pushiness and high talk in the beginning, and of course empty promises, at the first sight of trouble she runs away. The reason was supposed to be kinda noble but is never really fully articulated (was it because she feels bad for her best friend for "killing her" and "stealing" her boyfriend, was it because she feels bad for him because she "killed" his first love and then forgot everything?) plus the way she acts in the aftermath is just straight up obnoxious and ruins the whole thing. I hate myself for saying this but it's actually one of the rare moments Mun Ka Young was totally out of her depth as well. The writing attributing greatly, but she just couldn't capture the nuances of character being torn between the man she !supposedly! Loves and her best friend - it just came across as really selfish, cold and rude. Like when you ask a stranger on the street for some money and they brush you off. Yeah sorry I can't keep my promise - Yeah sorry I don't have any money, Of course the circumstances didn't help at all: Oh she's gonna focus on work - of course you can when you live the high life of the celeb with all you fancy shoots. What about his condition and the fact that he only ever loved one person before so when he does love he can't forget. And it was FL who insisted in the beginning and trying make him love her. And when he finally does, she bails on him - oh I have my work but you figure it out on your own. And then to pour salt on the would, when the drama got cancelled she runs back to him.

In addition to that they made ML from a charismatic and captivating guy in the beginning into this pathetic excuse of a man, constantly borderline begging her to get back together - some of the scenes were really sweet and heartbreaking but after a while it got super cringe and annoying. And that in turn made her seem even more spoiled and entitled.

When they do finally get together after he was stabbed - which I think was nicely utilized - the situation is again super obnoxious and pathetic. It's him again begging and her basically going "ok you win" as if it's a burden. Like she's forced to do this. Isn't this a man that supposedly makes you the most happy in your life?!

By this point the series is unsalvageable and straight up garbage. I didn't care about anyone anymore. Even the supporting character's romance, because I know it was all a filler. Also the second stocker subplot is resolved in the most anticlimactic way possible.

Then comes the cherry on top of the garbage: THE TWO YEAR BREAK UP! After being together for 5 min.

The most sickening point in the series. The reason was completely absurd - wait was there even a reason? Just cemented her as a straight up selfish b****. Actually the idea itself is not that bad and was a huge opportunity for her redemption - if he were to leave and she would wait for him. That would serve as a catalyst for her to reflect on her choices re first break up etc, realize her mistake and with actions (by waiting for him etc) show NOT TELL, SHOW! How much she loves him. But for some reason writer just lost her mind.

She comes back more entitled, of course a global celebrity. I sincerely at this point hoped that he would reject her really badly and absolutely hated FL but no, first a series of cringe fate-based encounters, more of his pathetic begging. Her's "Sorry I left You back then" and everything is back to normal?! And of course the mandatory "I realized I couldn't live without you". Really?! That's why the first thing you did when you came back to Korea is go shopping. Because you couldn't live without him?

Everything felt really fake at the end and I was actually really disappointed that they ended up together. It really sends out a wrong message and supports the idea that this kind of entitled behavior is rewarded.

And what's with all the turning men into pathetic saps always begging and always doing the first move/chasing. Even when the women is in the wrong. Is that a female writer thing? Do they think that's sexy? Or just playing out some old issues - wishful thinking.

Last but not least I'm super mad at the writers (and myself for saying this) for making me feel like this about Mun Ka Young, but by the end of the show I found her acting in the context of the story quite annoying and off, and at odds with the character.
