Two characters in the film are named in tribute to actors director Len Kabasinski enjoyed their works. They are "Jan Nowalsky", who is named after the late Jan Michael Vincent and "Rutger Thomas", who was named after the late Rutger Hauer.
The film underwent extensive re-writes since Kabasinski started writing it in late 2019. The film was to include in the cast Matt (SAMURAI COP) Hannon in the cast but the presidential election, COVID-19 pandemic, and movement on SAMURAI COP 3 ended his involvement. Travel restrictions and cost per day for a language interpreter also prevented Kabasinski from committing to Robert (DEATH KISS) Bronzi. In the final version of the script, the character was changed to a female role and Priscilla (Diamante' from AEW wrestling) Zuniga was cast.
