It's an engrossing watch.

Amy's mental state is brought into question, she finds an unlikely ally on board.

I feel like some of the intensity has gone out of it, they've toned down some of the drama, but they have definitely increased the suspense and the intrigue, it feels as though they are going to offer up a big finale.

Lots of interesting moments, we have a possible new lead, a possible cover up, and a very dramatic ending.

I am once again loving the acting of Suranne Jones and Shaun Evans.

There are definitely a lot of political inferences here, lots of them, surrounding Scottish independence and The Trident Project, I'm sure you'll have your own opinions on each subject.

It's getting closer to the end, I'm gripped. 8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Although the plot was driven forward, I felt the flashbacks were completely irrelevant to the story at hand, and random flash backs didn't help the audience believe that Jones' character was sane at all.

It is my theory that the Coxswain in the gas mask at the end is going to do the Detective no harm because he is trying to protect her from toxic gas that killed the cook.

The Detective seems to be accusing every single character she meets of being some sort of criminal, literally I can't think of a single character she's met on the submarine that she hasn't accussed of something, maybe that's the point, they're all guilty of something.

Ep 4 - steady going I guess

Pretty steady going at Episode 4 I'll say.

Silva's actions at the beginning and talk with the cox'n was interesting.

Interested in what happened at Port Havers - need to find out the whole truth.

Also, cannot wait to see the resolution to the cliffhanger we got at the end - what will happen to her?

[7.1] The nose

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4: 30% flashbacks, 70% mumbo talking and actions. That's nearly good, believe and don't mind, but, if they'd cut the flashbacks in third, that'd much nicer. The series is a mystery thriller, it does not need so many melodramatic romantic flashbacks of the two f.characters for the sake of "developing" fillers while everything is at stake in those metallic confines.

The sub is shiny and nice, but lacks true commanding and crew organization. Amy sticking her nose everywhere. Not realistically believable nor plausible.

Main character a bit weak

Loving this show still but I was a bit disappointed with Silva's acting. Rose Leslie continues to shine as does Endeavour alum.

Warning: Spoilers
One thing I learned from The Hunt for Red October was. Beware of the cook.

As is the case here. The cook's behaviour makes DI Amy Silwa suspicious.

Before this Amy was all at sea. During a surprise drill she bangs her head and her behaviour perturbs Commander Newsome who confines her to her quarters.

It is a set back where once again she is all alone in the submarine with no one to trust.

Back on dry land. DC Kirsten Longacre is grappling with the security services. Later she tangles with a Russian spy. She then uncovers the possibility of a Russian agent inside Vigil.

I did think Amy get hysterical during the drill was odd. It might be something to do with her medication but it looked clumsy when shown on the screen.

There was bound to be a Russian agent involved somewhere in this series. It does add further layers to the mystery and offers more suspects.
