As this episode starts Connor's new anomaly detection device alerts the people at ARC about a new anomaly near the Isle of Dogs; we see that a creature has come through when a youth is snatched and dragged into a drainage pipe. The team assemble although Abby and Connor are bickering as she is fed up with his girlfriend, Caroline, constantly being in her flat. The team take to the water and soon kill a creature that appears to be some sort of evolved shark. It quickly becomes apparent that it wasn't the creature that took the youth so the team start searching again; Stephen is convinced that it is in a canal but Cutter isn't so sure. Cutter searches elsewhere with Abby and Connor and Abby is snatched by the creature. It appears that she has been killed but luckily it has just taken her to its larder where the missing youth is also trapped. Of course they are far from safe and it is only a matter of time before the creature returns.
This was a pretty good episode; having creatures from the future enables the creators to be even more imaginative. There is plenty of tension as these frightening creatures threaten the team at one point it looked as if Abby could really have been killed! Almost as interesting is the question of what Oliver, Caroline and 'The Cleaner' are up to; we learn that whatever they are doing Helen Cutter is also involved. I'm sure many viewers will have cheered when Connor confessed his love to Abby when she was in mortal danger then been a little disappointed when he later went out on a date with Caroline he needs to see that she is trouble! Overall another enjoyable episode with enough scary moments as well as some interesting character development.
