Sex & Nudity

- A man's bare buttocks is shown while he is posing and looking at himself in the mirror in 1st episode. This is the only instance of nudity in all 8 episodes.
- No female nudity.
- Buggy the Clown sings a chanty in one episode and in it he says that Nami has a "nice ass".
- There are some mild sexual references and some nudity (only buttock is brief shown)
- A woman can be seen undressing on the ship but no genitals are shown.
Violence & Gore

- Multiple cases of blood, and gore can be heavy too. In one episode, a man is in a fight with a swordsman, and the swordsman cuts the man in half. Very cruel, and gruesome.
- Although it's a live action show, the violence and villainy take on an exaggerated "cartoon" style. The show is bloody and has lots of fights (weapons, fist-fights, special powers) but avoids gratuitous gore. All characters fight, but there are clear villains; some even discuss how violence isn't always the right answer. The show also touches on violence related to self-harm, murder, captivity, and government sanctioned executions.
- The amount of blood and gore is intense for a TV-14 rated series.
- Characters fight with weapons (swords, guns), fists, knockout gas, and special powers. Injuries are bloody but not gory; camera cuts away at moment of weapon strike, showing aftermath (scars, cuts) but not excessive gore.
Profanity

- The word "shit" is used 8-9 times in each episode. I'm different variants including bullshit, shithead, shitstorm, and shitbag.
- Mild profanities like "damn", "bastard", "hell", and "ass" are used. Stronger language including "bitch", "goddamn", "dickhead", "asshole", "shit", and one use of "fucking" (used as a swear word, not sexually) are used too.
- "Fucking" is used once as a swear word in the last episode of season 1.
- The middle finger is used a couple of times throughout the show.
- It should notice that it contains more strong bad language/swearing for TV-14 rated than anime series, and there's no use of "crap", "piss", "jackass", "dumbass", "badass", "smartass" and "balls".
- Profanity gets stronger in each episode. Season 1 episode 8 has the most amount of profanity with 18 uses of shit, a use of fucking, multiple uses of son of a bitch and more intense profanity.
- Several uses of goddamn it, damn, what the hell, dick, asshole, and son of a bitch.
- Shit is said just a few times at the start of the series but increases more frequently in each episode. Season 1 episode 8 has the most uses of shit.
- Insults/Name calling: Characters calls each other a "sniveling runt", "asshole", "bitch/son of a bitch", "scum", "shithead", etc.
- In the beginning of episodes are mild with "hell", "damn", "bastard", "ass", and "bitch/son of a bitch", but it became moderate in later episodes with "dick/dickhead", "goddamn", and "asshole".
- The language in One Piece is relatively mild compared to other shows with a similar rating. However, some profanity is used, though it is not prevalent.
- "God," "hell," "damn," "ass," "bitch," "bastard," "dick," "asshole," "shit," one use of "fuck" and on-screen uses of "the middle finger" respectively, with the first time in One Piece franchise with final use of "fuck" in the Season 1 finales.

- Lots of drinking throughout, Zoro is constantly seen drinking.
- Sanji, one of the main crew, is consistently seen with a cigarette.
- Lot of Alcohol and smoking. Overall moderate.
- Pirates sleep with empty bottles of liquor surrounding them (clearly drunk).
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A man gets cut in half. In a very gruesome way.
- The clown in season 1 episode 2 is pretty scary.
- Rated TV-14 for Sequence of Violence and Action, Bloody Content, Suggestive Material, Moderate Language, and Thematic Material.
- A flashback of main characters goes through trauma and tragedy.
- For tweens/teens.
Spoilers
Violence & Gore
- A butler who's actually a pirate uses 5 knife blades in his hand to stab people to death.
- A clown attempts to drown the main character in a tank of water in season 1 episode 2.
- A boy self harms himself in season 1 episode 1 by slicing his face with a sword. Nami stabs her own arm purposely several episodes later after she gets upset that the marines stole her money.
- In episode 5 of season 1, Zoro gets a big cut across his chest that may be a little gory for some viewers.
Profanity
- The Season 1 has 4 uses of the middle finger. In Episode 1, it is used by Zoro with one hand. In Episode 5 it is used by Usopp with one hand. In Episode 8, it is used by Buggy with two hands.

- A character gets drunk in season 1 episode 5 and throws glasses at other characters that are filled with alcohol.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A pirates stabs a man through his spine with 5 sharp sword blades.
- Nami commits self harm to herself after the marines steal her treasure chest in season 1 episode 8.
