Reviewer 'BigTrain45' is completely missing the big picture, I'm guessing because it doesn't agree with his or her antiquated 'Christian' views of the world, but this isn't 'New Age' stuff at all. This healing work is based on Reiki and other alternative healing modalities that pre-date Christianity by thousands of years. Instead of going to church and pretending everything is okay, they're coached to stop running from their problems and address them.
But what I like about the show is it doesn't feature the heavily scripted -- and thus highly predictable -- stock characters, typically wanna-be actors looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
For the most part -- with perhaps the exception of the Christine (with eyelashes about four times the size she should wear) and her gossipy mother Robin -- these folks seem genuinely just along for the ride, to see how it might actually help them. And some, especially the lutheran minister, seem to be finding that benefit.
I also like how there's no scripted/forced love triangles, none of the crap you get from Big Brother and other shows that are even less watchable.
Give it a try, you might just like it.
