Loved this episode

Warning: Spoilers
Especially loved one scene in particular. The deaf college students singing Fight Song was great. Very powerful & moving. Only thing that could've made it better were captions (imo).

Keeps getting better!!

I am in love with this show!!! The sound of silence was beautifully done and I teared up during it. And I loved the ASL version of Fight Song because i used to work with deaf students...what a great tribute to the deaf community!! I love the storylines, especially the one with Zoey and her dad. I love Peter Gallagher. Hope he stays a while longer!! And Happier pulled at my heartstrings in a personal way....so yeah, keep it up Zoey!!❤❤❤

Connection, Kindness, and Surprising Emotional Depth
DPBoe19 April 2020
After coming across an interesting clip somewhere, I binge-watched the show from the beginning, and have been completely drawn in. It is extraordinarily well written, well acted, sung and performed. For someone stuck alone in quarantine during the pandemic, the deep interpersonal and family connections are especially appealing. As a musician myself, I've always been keenly aware of music's extraordinary and unique power to reach into the human psyche, but I was astonished at how profoundly Zoey's experiences have resonated. Several of the episodes have felt like a warm hug from a loved one. I was moved to tears during the performance by the deaf students during this episode, and thought that the writers (or the director) made a very bold choice in not subtitling the ASL dialogue during the unusual musical sequence that was sung and danced in ASL. The melody was recognizable, but I couldn't place it. I couldn't recall any of the words that they were signing, but I burst into tears at the realization that I didn't have to know the words to understand what was being said, and was deeply moved by the emotional impact of the moment. It was surprising and revelatory; who knew TV could have that much power? (Apparently, the performers on this show, since they pour their heart and soul into it, and you can totally tell.) The marriage of the music and its lyrical content to the show's various plotlines is nothing short of magical; as if the music had been written and scripted for exactly that moment. In the wrong hands, the dance sequences and vocal performances could easily descend into absurdist parody, but somehow, here, they just don't. Instead, it's they are honest, loving and beautiful. (And who knew that Lauren Graham was such a diva? I'd beg for an all EP-style remake of the Gilmore Girls, but the only music that could fit in so much dialogue is by Gilbert and Sullivan so never mind. Is Alexis Bledel equally gifted and why are we only learning this now?) It's also profoundly satisfying that Zoey herself is a talented singer; from start to finish, the show is a burst of light and a breath of fresh air during a dark time.

Over the Top
dtporter-886-8830207 April 2020
I kinda liked this show at first, but this episode shows, no fulfills, the great potential of harmonizing music with humanity's great song of love and compassion. We do indeed have a fight to love well, especially now, and let that be our fight song. Fantabulous!

More Mo Please
RosesAreLilac7 April 2020
Everytime Mo sings I get chills. Their cover of that Kelly Clarkson song was amazing and I wish that they added this to Spotify. This episode seems to be next level overall. Really loving the character development and the choreography in this show as well.

Still better every week.
beachy-384316 April 2020
This show still gets better with every episode. My favorite song was the duet at the beginning of the episode, "Sounds of Silence". But then two surprises, (1) the number done in ASL That was wonderful and I hope they do not do it again. I could not understand the song. (2). The Walmart commercial was done in the same format, production number.

Beautiful!

Brought me to tears 3x because of the emotional depth communicated so beautifully by the singers and choreography. Emily's little solo was genius and the icing of this intricate and powerful episode. Amazing!

Zoey's Extraordinary Silence
Prismark1017 July 2020
Looks like Zoey's powers have returned. However she needs to move on from Simon.

Meanwhile Maxwell could be moving up to the 6th floor and promotion.

Zoey senses trouble between Simon and his fiance Jessica. Her sister in law Emily is left frustrated by David.

The one relationship Zoey tries to fix is between her dad's new carer Howie and his deaf daughter Abigail who is at college.

Abigail wants to go and spend time in Kenya and Howie is not happy about it.

Obviously the title of the episode relates to the relationship with Abigail. One of the songs is performed in sign language and I'm always a sucker for a good version of Sound of Silence.
