As is often the case with miniseries and season-long plotlines in crime dramas, my patience was wearing thin by episodes 4 & 5. Malik's silence and choices in several respects were dimming his light as a worthy protagonist. Story arcs were dragging. But the trio who wrote the first installment reunited for the finale and delivered the season's best script.
Most of the main and lesser plotlines resolved above and beyond a satisfactory level. A few twists made the ending more dramatically compelling and even elicited emotions I wasn't expecting to feel.
They wrapped the season as all shows that haven't already been renewed should. Clear the bases of unfinished business, and set up something new for a possible continuation that would be welcome if it occurs, but OK if it doesn't.
If you know any series producers or network honchos, please forward this review... or at least the preceding paragraph.
