Judy Morris gives another fine performance as Lauren, a career woman who suddenly realised that time is running out for her to have a child. Her journalist husband, Cam (Michael Aitkens), was a bit of a man-boy, who didn't want to lose his freedom, and left her. The film follows Lauren as she juggles her career, her younger boyfriend who wants to replace Cam, and her ex-husband who suddenly returns to Sydney and seems interested again. It's an interesting little film, with a screenplay by author Frank Moorhouse, whose short story forms the basis for the film.
Lewis Fitz-gerald plays the handsome boyfriend, and David Downer and Penne Hackforth-Jones play Lauren's friends, who all support Lauren when Cam leaves, and all are very good. It's a successful film, but not world-shattering.
