Greatest Film Of All Time
bumblegravy8 February 2020
When I heard this film was going to be released I was impressed by the amount of talent put in by the director Michael Scott. I would like to say this film gets not enough attention for its visually captivating cinematography and motivating story.

No Words Can Describe This Masterpiece

What Can I Say? The Godfather (Parts One and Two), The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, The Graduate, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood? Sure they're all good, but nothing compares to this ingenious creation.

This movie shoots...and scores!

I've seen a lot of films over years and this is certainly the greatest film ever made. The actors are top notch and should be casted for many more Hollywood blockbusters, the VFX are great, and the script is like the Matrix on drugs. The director of this masterpiece...Micheal Scott, he should be a full time director because this is on par with movies like the Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, Fight Club and the Shining.

This movie has opened my eyes to what true filmaking is and I am craving for more, that's what she said, from Great Scott Productions.

10/10 Greatest Movie of All Time.

Never thought there would be "the perfect movie".
zhyarazadd5 May 2020
So Michael Scott makes the movie of everyone wished for, this movie has everything that audience wants, literally everything. Michael Scott is the legend.

The dialogues are so powerful that sometimes it makes you cry.

So everyone's sweetheart "jim" is the villain, and he plays the role of his lifetime.

And I didn't know if it was Dwight or a robot, because he was so good.

The special effects are so good that you won't even notice it's fake.

And the action sequences are insane.

And the dancing scene is my favourite scen of the movie.

Overall it's a the perfect movie that everyone should watch it.

It taught me lots of things, watched it like a dozen times, and it's my favourite movie of all-time.

Can't wait for the sequel.

Perfect film, flawed filmposter
joskievit29 June 2022
Why does the Filmposter include the name Toby Flenderson. He doesn't deserve a mention here because he didn't make the movie, he has like a second of screen time and his performance is terrible, mediocre at best. Dislike.

The right amount of comedy an romance, combined with a puzzling and intriguing plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Great cast and visual effects, accompanied by a great soundtrack. Simpy incredible.

Warning: Spoilers
This film is a masterpiece of action and comedy. Golden face is a very threatening villain! "Ready... Set.." "Die!" One of the most chilling lines ever, and all those twists, it's amazing! So twisty. Lots of people so that it's ripping off films, but really it's being inspired and improving on them! Truly a masterpiece! Being honest, if you are a fan of the office (like myself), I would give it a watch, creed is great.

Hope in Filmmaking Restored
ross_cormanoreilly31 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In a world of endless reboots and sequels, I was beginning to lose hope in the idea of an original movie. Well, I just saw Threat Level Midnight, and boy did it make me believe again. In his directorial debut, Michael Scott crafts a stunning and incredibly well-written film that is rivaled by no other that I've seen in a long time.

From a visual standpoint, Threat Level Midnight looks almost too good to be a directorial debut. I was genuinely shocked when Scott's name popped up in the credits. I wouldn't be surprised if this film takes home the Oscar for best cinematography.

However, a film needs a good script, and that is absolutely where Threat Level Midnight shines. With twists and turns around every corner, this unpredictable thrill ride of a film provides the audience with some of the greatest action sequences of all time (including a brilliantly executed and staged ice-skating shootout sequence).

What is even more impressive to me is that while Scott is directing, he also is starring as reluctant hero Michael Scarn in one of the most raw and visceral performances I've ever scene. A lot of films these days rely on huge VFX sequences to drive the plot forward, but Threat Level Midnight, at its core, is an incredibly character focused film with multiple emotional struggles, including getting over the death of a loved one, leaving your comfort zone for the greater good, and showing how villains can be just as sympathetic as the protagonist.

Some highlights of the film are: Mind-blowing visual effects (especially a certain head explosion, but I'll say no more), Creed Bratton's incredibly subtle performance as Cherokee Jack, An underrated Ryan Howard performance, the breathtaking opening action sequence, and of course, The Scarn, a very fun scene which adds some lightheartedness to an otherwise extremely serious film

Overall, I just want to say thank you, Michael Scott, for making every moviegoer's dreams come true. If someday you ever read this, which I know is unlikely, I just want you to know that you inspired me to create my own films and show them to the world. It's always incredibly refreshing to see a new filmmaker come out of the gate like this. I look forward to any future Michael Scott films and I can only hope that they maintain the same level of dedication that was so crucial in making this film. 10/10. If I could rate it higher I would.

I stumbled across this movie at a festival. What a rollercoaster. I laughted and I cried. The copier did tricks on the high-wire. A lady tried to give away a baby that looked like a cat. A strong man crushed a turtle. Not a bad documentary about a dog food company.

Go puck yourself Warning: Spoilers
"Threat Level Midnight: The Movie" is an American/British co-production that was released briefly before the 2019 Christmas holidays. It runs for slightly under 25 minutes and was directed by prolific television series director Tucker Gates. The script is by B.J. Novak, who received several Emmy nomination for "The Office" and there you also have the connection already. This is very closely linked to the cancelled series, the American version that is. I think what you are watching here is actually part of said show in a way that this movie was made by the characters who played major parts in the show. I am not too familiar with the American version, but watched the British and German approach in their entireties and liked them both a lot. Actually, I will start watching the American version soon. It's way up there on my watchlist and took far too long anyway. So of course the lead here is Oscar nominee Steve Carell, who I think looks still much younger than he actually is. And the rest of the cast are also all(?) actors who appeared on The Office. Craig Robinson for example is an actor I always appreciate and he was interesting here too playing the American President, especially when he turns evil at some point. But still the protagonist is ready to accept his call again at the end of the film, so yeah the movie sure does not take itself too seriously in terms of the plot and that is perfectly fine. It is all about being entertaining and I think they succeeded there. Also I always appreciate if they include many film references, which is certainly the case here. My favorite is probably the one about Karate Kid early on and his unorthodox training. Bruce Wayne is mentioned too and when he gets his self-confidence back near the end already I felt that this was somehat linked to Bale standing up to Bayne in Nolan's final installment of the franchise. Maybe just me though. As for Rainn Wilson though, I never liked him a lot and I believe it is pretty telling that he never managed a great performance or memorable turn away from his trademarkt show. I would not call myself a John Krasinski fan either (from what I have seen him in, not too much I believe), but as I love Bond and Goldfinger, I also liked his turn here and with 007 you must be really bad to leave me unimpressed. Or maybe I would not say I was impressed here, but my rating shows that I liked the outcome overall. Still I feel that even if I was more familiar with the American "The Office", I never would have considered it a great watch, just a good one. The little epilogue was maybe the weakest sequence of the entire film. I would have preferred them to leave this one out, but it is not so bad that it ruins everything before that. Again with Krasinski's character, the parody of the story how he is a tortured soul (which we often see in films) was also a nice spoof. I mean the moment he explains why he has a golden face. Other than that, the film is not scared of being showy, also in terms of violence for example with the guy whose head is shot off, but hey we find out he somewhat deserved it for who he was. So also some obscene talking here. The first scene at the office with the (contract?) killer arriving and taking all these shots and how the protagonist dodges them only to fire back immediately afterwards and not miss a single shot shows you exactly what direction this short film is heading. Quality direction, that is. I give it a thumbs-up. Also worth seeing if you don't care for "The Office", even if the comedy is probably similar to the series (not only because of the writer), but there are a handful familiar faces in here. Best example is Rashida Jones, who's also succeeding as a writer these days, which probably makes her the second biggest star behind Carell at this point, even if she is in it only very briefly. That should be all now, no need for a novel-length review for a film that does not even come close to 30 minutes. Watch it!

Not very funny.
noahgibbobaker18 December 2020
I like the UK office, I don't like the US office as much and I didn't like threat level midnight very much at all.

I think it's a decent parody of the action/crime genre, but I didn't find it very funny. I think I batmn'ed once, so yeah it's not my kind of comedy. I prefer more subtlety, I know that isn't the point but I still don't find it funny, sorry.

Heads I do it, tails I don't. Best out of seven
zach_g9412 February 2022
"It's got action, it's got heart, it's got some bosom"

There are few films that capture the nuances of the human condition while highlighting the woeful complexities of the life of secret agents. Michael Scarn has the humour of Jason Bourne, the intelligence of Johnny English, and the raw sexual magnetism of James Bond. By the final credits, it will have you pondering how, perhaps, we all need to go puck ourself.

To the people who rated this movie badly I say: "It'll take a lot more than a bullet to the brain, lungs, heart, back, and balls to kill Michael Scarn."
