Steven Holl : I think this conference is not about metals at all, in fact the exciting thing about the conference, and as was the last conference and the one before that, is the revaluation of values and I see two arguments in this conference, energy vs structure, the whole values of the problem of buildings today using 40-70% of the world's energy, as being more important than structure, that's one line and I see it going in different directions from different people but that's a whole revaluation of values which we have to come to terms with, but the second theme is art vs utility and what scares me about this conference is that utility would win over art in a bad way and we turn into sort of pragmatists doing just really economic sheds with a lot of solar collectors of the roves.
