The new Batmobile is a customized 2019 C7 Series Corvette.
The Batmobile when it takes off has flames coming out the center 4 exhaust pipes, this design is in homage to the Batmobile in Batman (1966) as the car design was supposed to be a jet engine and super fast. The actual car took 30 seconds to hit 50 mph, as it only went 50mph but looked great doing it.
Despite being a character created for the series, Ryan Wilder had her first appearance in Batgirl vol 5 #50.
This is the first episode to feature the Batmobile. The Batmobile was supposed to appear in what would have been the Season 1 penultimate episode if COVID hadn't happened. Caroline Dries explained " We had already prepped and created the Batmobile and I already had that in my brain of like, "Well, we have it. We're obviously going to use it." So ultimately, we decided, "Well, it's great to use it in the premiere, of course And I wanted to give Ryan a new mode of transportation, ultimately. So she's going to adopt this car as her own... This 2021 Corvette kind of already looked like the chassis of what we were looking for. So our production designer souped it up, and then I sent photos of the mock-up to DC, and it goes through their channels, and they basically approved it".
One norm going away is the trademark black eye makeup that every on-screen bat-hero since Michael Keaton has worn under the mask- Ruby Rose eventually parted with it and Javicia Leslie will also decline, she acknowledge: "Being a woman of color, it was important that we didn't black out my eyes," Leslie said. "We wanted to play with light instead of playing with darkness to help accentuate me being a black woman in playing this role."
