If you have watched Crazy Rich Asian. Then you must see the resemblance between two movies. Both contains lavish living style of an old style rich family with a mother-in-law whom strongly against their son's lover. However, as a Vietnamese, I do not see anything that portray the long tradition of Hue people in Vietnam as Crazy Rich Asian demonstrate the Chinese in Singapore. The dialogues are simply unbearable while the movie maker try to make it more Hollywood style which completely contradict with the classy Vietnam background. The background and the food scene are the only two things that I feel okay in this movie. But overall, I do not recommend it.
