Paul goes to Gina for help

Warning: Spoilers
We find Paul Weston, as he arrives to Gina's place; it is not a social visit. Dr. Weston had a horrible week in which he got directly affected by his patients. Paul wants to unburden his soul after the terrible news about Kate's deception. Suddenly, the world of this therapist comes crashing on him. He is in desperate need to get some guidance and that is the main reason for coming to see Gina.

Dr. Gina Toll, as it comes out in the course of the session with Paul Weston, has been an influential figure on his life. We get to know that she was involved with his father in an extramarital affair, something that Paul suspected was happening at the time it did. His father had died recently and he questions Dr. Toll why did she not go to the funeral. She answers it was painful for her after her own husband's death.

Gina tries to guide Paul rationale into something that makes sense. In presenting his case, he continually jumps from one subject to another. He is obviously facing a stressful situation he is facing. The fact that Laura has expressed her desire for Paul has unnerved him, against his better judgment. Paul tells Gina he does not want to turn Laura to another therapist because he thinks he can help her.

This was another good chapter of the series. Directed with an eye for detail, director Rodrigo Garcia brings the best in Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest, two actors at the top of their form. This installment was written by Davey Holmes, that shows a good inside into what Paul Weston, the man who is supposed to help people, is going through in his own life.
