A Desperate Man
Hitchcoc11 April 2017
Once again, there are multiple balls in the air. Things to wonder about. The Tobin clan (remember Bernie Madoff and his family) are at wits end. The old man is a piece of work. He is played by Len Cariou who now is the patriarch on "Blue Bloods." I remember going to see him on the stage at the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. He knows he is going to prison and has the assets to set some of his evil right, but it ain't gonna happen. His son is becoming desperate, seeing a life going forward where he will be despised forever. His wife is obviously leaving him and Patty and the rest of the world sees him as a pariah. We are let in early to the death of Tom Shayes and are going to be brought through the circumstances leading up to that death. It turns out he invested in the Ponzy scheme as did many of his family members. He enlists Ellen's assistance. What went wrong. Phil visits Patty and asks if they can try again. Meanwhile, the old guy's mistress is out there and she could cause trouble. The hook comes at the end when Joe goes to see the woman who shacked up with Dad. I'm only scratching the surface.
