The Last Manhunt (2022) is a remake of the film Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here (1969) starring Robert Blake, Robert Redford and Katharine Ross based on the novel by Harry Lawton based on a Paiute legend.
The story of Willie Boy was first filmed as the 1911 short The Curse of the Redman (1911) by the Selig Polyscope Company and directed by Francis Boggs. The character of Willie Boy in the 1911 version had been changed to Maricopa Apache.
The original grip and electric crews on the film were fired, illegally, for trying to unionize the production due to miserable and dangerous working conditions. The replacement crews were then fired only to be replaced by a third set of crews.
