Private MacGillicuddy doesn't take baths, and suffers not only a lecture by Mel Blanc, but a lot of personal discomfort.
Most cartoon fans are aware of the Private Snafu cartoons, turned out for the army. Not so many seem to know the Private McGillicuddy cartoons produced and directed by Hugh Harman for the Marine Corps. Perhaps that is due to fewer people knowing them at the time; after all, there are a lot fewer Marines than soldiers. However, this are clearly less accomplished cartoons, with only partial animation, clearly produced with tighter time constraints as the War belatedly shifted from Europe to the Pacific. Still, the Mel Blanc voicework is excellent.
