In response to the other reviews-the boy was reunited with his father and stepmom who raised him. His biological mother and grandmother had died years before. Makes perfect sense to me.

Ok, Carsons fater was cleared in the end but several holes remain. The question of the missing child report was never resolved. Why wasn't Carsons birth mother ever contacted during the investigation? Is his mother still alive? Someone had to report the abduction...
Good episode, with good supporting actors

This episode has a full roll of contributory elements: mystery, suspense, humour, pathos and family. We get to see Jenny Shepard as mother, Gibbs in full father mode, and the team clustering around in support as family. The lynchpin of the episode is the sterling performance of a very young Dominic Scott Kay: I'd say he has a great future ahead of him. I am also struck by the performance of Karis Campbell. I have not yet seen her performance in The West Wing, but I will. It seems to me that she is one of those few actors who can communicate comedic and tragic emotions at will (rather than just projecting themselves) - a great actor. I am sorry that she doesn't appear more on our screens.

Most reviewers stated they wondered why the biological mother didn't come forward!! It was stated at least three time, she drowned when Carson was 6 months old and the Grandmother, who had custody had died that year, so Carson was reunited with the right person, also NCIS cleared the father of all charges!!
The ending doesn't make sense

The father; on the run and accused of murder, kidnaps the child from the mother who was granted full-custodial custody by a judge years earlier. The ending has the boy reunited with his father? Why wasn't the boy reunited with his mother? Why wasn't the father (although cleared of murder) why wasn't he arrested for kidnapping the boy years earlier?

It left off with Carson talking to Gibbs at Shepard's place on my Android box that's where the show ended. His mom died 6weeks after he was born. His maternal grandmother sue Carson's dad for custody and won. So he stole him. She died the yr before he found out he was abducted.
