"Oh my God, they killed Kenny" "You bastards"
RainDogJr22 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I was a really big fan of South Park when the episodes of Season 4 were completely new and I watched the show on TV until when the last episode of Season 6 was new. Later my interest for the show decreased a little and not due the content of the episodes, basically I just stop watching it with regularity. The last Season I watched was Season 7, I watched it on DVD I think in 2006 and since then I have seen just a bunch of episodes, and just bought another DVD of the show (The Hits Volume One), and I watched most of them during this same year in South Park Studios. Contrary of some South Park fans, I love new episodes as I love old ones, is not like with The Simpsons that for me are more than great but just the old episodes (that make like 11 Seasons!), but for sure is great to watch a 2007 episode that is like an old school South Park episode.

Parker and Stone always mention that for them the "kids being kids" episodes can be extremely funny, The List is an extremely hilarious episode. It is kids being kids so we have Butters explaining to his school fellas that there's a list that the girls made that has in it who is the cutest boy of the school class and who is the ugliest. So there's the curiosity but also kind of the maturity with Kyle who sees this as nothing really important. This time Cartman will not make team with Stan and Kyle to get the list but with Butters, Kenny and other boys. This time Cartman will not have a lot of hilarious moments but the few ones are great, practically most of the first laughs are delivered by Cartman and Butters. Cartman leads the operation to steal the list from the girls and their plan is to kick in the balls the girl who has the list! Of course they fail the first time and also learn that girls do not have balls! So the second chance is the good one and finally Kenny steals the list. Clyde, Token and Stan are the top 3, Kenny is the number 7, Butters the 11 and Francis (who the f*** is Francis?), Cartman and Kyle are the bottom 3. We have a hilarious case with Butters, he was really worry about the list and said that his parents will punish him if he appears in the bottom of it. Is so hilarious because what Butters said was true so he is really happy with his place and even making fun of the ugliest boy of the class, just like Cartman of course and also just like most of the students. So there you have Kyle suffering and hanging no more with his old friends now he has to be with the ones like him! But Stan is also there to help his best friend and with that we have a magnificent conclusion. Is so damn typical and because of that it is so hilarious, is the classic stuff so you watch how the girls really work with their lists and is basically something sacred for them. Then we have another typical situation when a member of this sacred thing realizes that some other partners are being part of some mysterious plan that is breaking the rules. Wendy is the member that will find the truth so she will be in danger, after all even the leader is part of the plan. The ending will bring really special moments. "Oh my God, they killed Kenny" "You bastards", the memorable words could have been hear during this episode however both Stan and Kyle weren't with Kenny in the moment of this death. It ranks among the most memorable Kenny's deaths of all time. But that's not all, the very last scene of this episode is also really classic, you know some things just never change. Also I want to add a moment that for me was very South Park so a moment that I loved. Picture this: Kyle has a "visit" of Abraham Lincoln who take him ride to see how his ugliness is a good thing since he will be someone with a character at the age of 40, Kyle says something like "I can't wait that long" and then he says to Lincoln that take him to his house. So there you watch both inside Lincoln's car!

Finally, read the comment for this episode of user Tommy Nelson, he wrote something that is true: "This episode will be very highly reviewed by fans of South Park who have been watching from the beginning. This episode felt like an older episode of South Park". Of course this is not a causality, basically Trey and Matt made that Stan represented South Park in that mentioned last scene in which Wendy says something like "you have changed in a really awesome way" but like I write some things just never change! Then I am one of those fans who also think that this is classic South Park and who think that The List is just a great episode.

Pretty good South Park Episode
gangstahippie27 September 2008
The List is the season 11 finale.I watched it again yesterday. In this episode, the girls make a list ranking the boys from hottest to ugliest.Kyle at first does not care about this list, until he finds out he is voted the ugliest kid.He now becomes depressed and joins the ugly kids at school.Stan and Wendy try to find out why they voted Kyle the ugliest and find out the list was bias. This episode is pretty funny and has some good twists. It doesn't really spoof current events.I think it's a throwback at the older episodes.Pretty good season finale in my opinion.

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this episode because i have known girls in my primary school who made a list although we did not get to see this list which i am quite angry about i would like to know what place i was in and don't make a joke about it otherwise your an idiot although this episode was rather silly (because of Bebe producing a gun and all the cops turning up acting as if it where a real scandal) but this episode definitely has the best Kenny death ever and this time he dies while eating dinner (pop tarts) with his family and then boom you will love his death and at least it shows that he is back in south park probably not for good but a least for the meantime i want to see either another episode or a new series yeas rock on Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

A great season finale.
TOMNEL14 November 2007
This episode will be very highly reviewed by fans of South Park who have been watching from the beginning. This episode felt like an older episode of South Park, not parodying anything in particular and relying on the characters, along with a funny plot.

In this hilarious episode, the boys manage to steal a list of their rankings from cutest to ugliest from the girls. When Kyle finds that he is last on the list, after Cartman, he becomes depressed and begins to hang out with the ugly kids. Meanwhile, Stan and Wendy try to find how this could have happened, and find a huge conspiracy. Not that this should have any effect on my rating of this episode, but it felt like an old episode in so many ways. Stan (along with Wendy) and Kyle had the main plots, while Cartman, Kenny and Butters had a sub-plot at the beginning of the episode, so all the boys have screen time. Kenny, after nearly 40 episodes, finally does die again, in one of his most hilarious deaths. This episode finally felt like it was about the boys, and they didn't just throw them in to make a viewpoint. I think the main thing that this episode had, that has been missing from almost the entire eleventh season, is the innocence of a child.

Humor can be just as funny mixed with emotion as it is in non-stop ripping on someone or something else.

My rating: **** out of ****. TVMA 22 mins.

This episode sparkles! Sunshine!
Stardust43415 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The season finale is about a list the 4th grade girls make ranking their fellow male classmates from cutest to ugliest. Of course once the boys find out about the list, they have to have it. Which leads to some humor when the boys, most notably Butters, learns that girls don't have balls. After a second attempt the boys get the list and we find Clyde is #1 and Kyle is last, even after Cartmen. This leads to Kyle's downward spiral, he hangs out with some of South Parks most disturbing children and eventually decides to burn down the school. Stan tries to find out why Kyle is last and gets Wendy to help him. She brings Stan to a list making meeting which leads to probably the funniest part of the episode. The girls have their own language which makes great use of the words sparkle and sunshine. Wendy finds there is something odd about the list they made and tries to figure out what went wrong, however the girls threaten her and Stan to stop snooping around. I won't say anymore, except Butters is number 11 out of 16 and pretty proud of it!

The List
arthurzager23 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This season 11 finale is full of suspense, mystery, conspiracy, love, and utter disfigurement. The girls in the 4th grade make a list naming all the boys in the class from cutest to ugliest. The Top 3 are Clyde, Token, and Stan. The Bottom 3 are Francis, Cartman, and Kyle (who gets upset over it). No one is actually helping Kyle with his problem except, of course, Stan who enlists Wendy's help to change the list. They later discover a conspiracy with the list and Kyle meets Abe Lincoln and tries to burn down the school. Stan and Wendy finally find out Bebe was in charge of the conspiracy and tries to kill Stan , Wendy, and Kyle on top of the school after stopping him from burning the school down. Wendy and Bebe fight over her gun when the police arrive to arrest Bebe and the gun goes off. After checking her jacket for blood, Wendy discovers she's holding the gun and then shows Bebe checking her jacket and Kenny dies. Then, at the end, something happens that hasn't happened since Season 7 (I'm not saying what, though).

I give it a ***** out of *****

Infernal Affairs
hellraiser74 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This episode is another one of my favorites in my book, it's another season finale episode that I felt finished strong. What I really like about this episode is that it's one of their original episodes and not topical ones, as I said before personally I feel when they do an original episode that's where the show is at its best because it has the most energy and creativity.

The stuff at the beginning was funny as we see it starts of almost like a heist film where Cartman along with the boys with him are devising schemes to steel the girls ranking list. We then see the first scheme and it of course is a failure because of one anatomical fact left out, what Cartman and Butters said about it I thought "Yeah, no s... Sherlock!" It was blackly funny as we see in the aftermath of the failed scheme Butters is beaten up bad which serves him right.

I like that we see the dark side of Kyle beginning to swell up, he's sympathetic as he's been victimized by labeling, as he's been listed as the ugliest kid in school. When I saw that I thought "What the frak!" that made no damn sense to me, Kyle looks about as handsome as Stan, what is so off putting about Kyle.

I really felt bad for Kyle in this episode, he really doesn't deserve this flak. There is some sad truth about this where sometimes there are these guys that actually look really good and are nice and full of character, but no girls ever want to talk to them, they get mistaken for something their not or misunderstood, or get nothing but put downs; it makes no damn sense isn't this the kind of person you're looking for?

It's all just pushes him over the edge and we see him start to do something drastic by committing arson on South Park Elementary. It's makes sense he would burn down the school, being forced to come back to a place where you'd have to face prejudice almost every day is too much to bear for anyone.

Though to me the highlight of the episode was seeing both Stan and Wendy together. I'll admit that break up really bumed me out along with other fans and has caused Wendy to become M.I.A. for a long while. I'm glad someone finally had the guts to set things right again realizing how beloved the character Wendy was and the pair up between Stan and Wendy was to the show; those two belong together I don't want it any other way, breaking them up was bullcrap much like keeping Barry and Iris apart in seasons 1 and 2 of "The Flash".

One of the reason why I always liked seeing those two together is because is it induces a different dynamic and really brings depth to the character Stan. It's a break from the usual Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman dynamic which let's face it is an all dude fest. It was great seeing both Wendy and Stan work together, what they go though plays out like a political thriller like "All the Presidents Men" as Stan and Wendy are uncovering corruption within the girl's democratic system. I really like how the episode sort of was another way of seeing more of the subculture with the female populace which we don't see much in the show, it's funny how they have their own version of the supreme court and their own lingo like Sunshine which I assume means I agree or I concur. Stan and Wendy make a dark discovery when they uncover that the ballets have been compromised and some of the members are in on it, all because of their own petty greed and vanity which are shoes.

The last minutes were really suspenseful as it honestly felt like anything was possible, we see Kyle about to light up the school. But of course, Stan and Wendy come in the nick of time to talk him down and present the truth. But then of course Bebe comes with a gun and its full conformation she is the one behind it all. I like Bebe, but this is one of those times I don't, she sold out her own integrity in exchange for you own selfishness. In a way that bit is a bit of a commentary on the corrupt politicians we have now.

Really liked seeing the physical tussle between both Wendy and Bebe it really shows Wendy is capable of kicking ass. But then there is a gunshot, I'll admit hearing that gave me a brief shock, I remember being really worried and thinking "Oh my god, did Wendy get shot?" it really felt like the episode was going to go pull a Joss Wheldon card on us, now if you seen any of his actual good work you know what I mean. But of course, Wendy gets up and checks and sees she didn't get shot, I then thought "Thank God." That would have been too sad even for me. And then we the gun in Wendy's hand and we almost think Bebe's been shot. But she then gets up and sees she's alright, which I'm fine with I honestly didn't feel she deserved the bullet, just time in the Iso Cubes. We then see where the bullet traveled to and I'll just say it's hits the target.

And we see in the end, Bebe gets arrested rightfully so, she may have dodged the bullet but not justice. Kyle does the right thing and burns the real list, realizing it doesn't really matter where he's rank what really matters is how he feels about himself inside which is the one true beauty in life that matters. Stan and Wendy are whole once more and what happens in the final minute I both laughed and cheered, because it showed everything is right in South Park and the world once more.

So Relatable
jamesmtuttle-3141620 February 2019
This episode really, really hit close to home. Women have shown little interest in me and it's always difficult for me to get a girlfriend. I can relate to Kyle's delema. It's funny and thoughtful. The ending was great.

A fantastic final episode of one of the best seasons
FriedToast0224 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The last episode was great this one is amazing. Everything that makes a top tier South Park is all here. It also feels like a huge nostalgic trip for the fans especially with Stan puking on Wendy which hasn't happened in many seasons, it's also weirdly heartwarming the show implies she enjoys it. Also the main plot is South Park at its best, with the kids acting like kids which tend to go higher up on my lists. When I first watched this I noticed some similarities to Marjorine in Season 9 just the girls vs boys vibe but that's pretty much where the similarities end. The plot in this episode is the girls posting a list of the boys look on a ranking displayed on a list for the boys to see. Which messes up Kyle because he's behind Cartman and ranked the lowest out of all the boys in his class and he goes quite crazy thank god Stan the man and Wendy got to him in time. I love how it starts with the boys trying to get the list. Also it's slight but I also love how Butters always knows everything like the list and when all the fights are going down. Whenever he says fellas it's great. Also Butters in this episode is amazing being appreciative for getting 11th on the list maybe a little to much, but it leads to hilarious moments just him being excited about it is hilarious. Him going home and telling his parents is also great. Clyde being number 1 was hilarious especially for what they do with the ending. Clyde acting all snarky now because he's number 1 and all of the sudden has a letterman's jacket for some reason was funny to me and the scene of him on the phone with different chicks. Stan is also great throughout this episode trying to get to the bottom of why Kyle is at the bottom of the list, as well as Wendy in this episode, when she finds out the list is a fraud she feels betrayed and working with Stan and pushing aside their differences to figure out what's going on with the list. Their conversation together felt so real and Matt and Trey are great at this. Also there line of "sparkles, sunshine" is great. Also the third act is a highlight of the episode with Stan and Wendy working together to take down the corrupt with Bebe in charge of this and the reasoning to me made me laugh so hard the first time, doing this all for shoes bruh, and then her getting arrested was also great. Wendy and Bebe's conversation was fantastic with her thinking about switching when Bebe shows Wendy the shoes. I think this episode also succeeds for focusing more on the kids then the adults, don't get me wrong some of my favorite episodes involve the Park adults being clueless, but this one just felt back to basics. In my opinion a top tier episode but there's a lot of top tier. I won't say underrated because I feel like a lot of South Park fans enjoy this one quite a lot just for a lot of nostalgic shown for the earlier seasons in this episode. This season is up there for me for sure in my top 5 but there's so many amazing seasons. I also love the way they choose to write Kyle with him being the guy that takes things to seriously. Don't really have anything wrong with it everything works for me.

Amazing job!
boihagg3 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ok so the list has to be the best episode of south park. Like I watched the entire episode without feeling bored. So the girls in the class have made a list that rates the handsomeness of all the boys from cutest to ugliest. Kyle finds out he's at the bottom. He feels disappointed and sad. Stan then sees that he hangs out with the other ugly kids in the class. Stan feels guilty and talks to Wendy about all this. Wendy takes more Stan to the girls' place where they make their lists. But they think he's crazy, so he fails. Kyle is so angry about this that he wants to burn the school down. But Abraham Lincoln tells him not to. Wendy and Stan later go and visit the place where the girls create the lists. They tell them to change the list, but the girls almost told a secret that wendy apparently wouldn't handle. But wendy kicks a girl and runs away with it. Kyle is up on the school roof with the explosives and he's ready to burn down the school. But wendy and stan comes up and stops him, they have the list with them to show kyle the real one. But bebe shows up with a weapon and a bag with shoes that clyde bought to her. Wendy says that she endangered the list and she made a copy of the list and send it to the police. When the cops arrive, Wendy and bebe have a little fight and then bebe shoots with the gun. It hitted Kenny, leaded to his death. Then Bebe gets arrested. The best scene have to be the fight! I mean this episode dosent contain one boring scene. I recommend it!

Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't believe Bebe turned mean on her friends for one little list, and she was arrested, not to return again, until "Breast Cancer Show Ever." In the meantime, keep away from this episode, or pay the ultimate price.

Very dull and hard to sit through
arielsiere8 June 2022
Come on non of the characters from this show are likable instead they act so unlikable, annoying, bland and cliche, the episodes can be a real pain in the ass to sit through and non of them are enjoyable always every episode has a bad ending and they have no redeeming qualities and they got they're own movie called South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut which that movie is the worst movie ever next to Sausage Party, Norm Of The North, The Banana Splits Movie, The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning, Mulan 2, The Emoji Movie, Thomas And Friends Race For The Sodor Cup, Bob The Builder Mega Machines The Movie, Belle's Magical World, Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas and The Wild (2006) along with The Jungle Book 2.
