The Re-Education of Jane Brown - Haunting and Revealing
BlackbirdFilmFest4 November 2020
MK McGehee's short film, The Re-Education of Jane Brown, is a haunting film about the damaging effects of trauma on the mind and body. Seemingly trapped in her apartment, unable to escape the terrible mental / physical pain associate with the loss of a pregnancy, Jane Brown (phenomenally acted by Catherine Parker) must relive her trauma over and over again. The Re-Education of Jane Brown is BRILLIANTLY written and McGehee's directorial style is both haunting and gripping as she delicately navigates this sensitive subject within the realm of the horror genre. In short, this film is a MUST SEE, especially during a time when a woman's right to choose is in question.
