Ned retires from reviving the dead
Tweekums4 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
As is often the case this episode opens with an episode from young Ned's time at school; this time he and his friend Eugene find a body in the woods; Eugene runs off but Ned wants to solve his first murder so wakes the man; it turns out that he died in an accident but the police don't believe him when they arrive! Surprisingly this is the only person Ned revives this episode as the main case is the disappearance of Dwight Dixon. Emerson turns down the case when Aunt Vivian approaches him as he knows exactly what happened to Dwight and would prefer it if nobody else found out. He didn't expect her to employ his rivals 'The Norwegians' though. Once on the case they begin investigating in forensic detail and once they get an exhumation order for the graves of Charlotte and Charles Charles it looks as if everything will be exposed! Olive meanwhile is getting fed up about being kept in the dark and decides that if she can't work with Emerson she will work with the Norwegians.

This was a fun episode with some good twists; I particularly liked the 'solution' to the Dwight Dixon case. The Norwegians were amusing; I liked their matching Norwegian flag clothing! As always the acting was solid and the conclusion promised to make Emerson's future investigations a little trickier... Ned decided that he would no longer use his skills!

No one was revived this episode!

Warning: Spoilers
In a huge change in the format of the series, no one was brought back from the dead for this episode! So, instead of investigating a new murder, this show was spent trying to hide the killing of evil Dwight in a prior episode. It seems that Aunt Vivian misses Dwight and thinks he was a wonderful guy. When she approached Emerson to look for Dwight, Emerson is blunt--telling her that Dwight was evil and it's not worth looking for him (since he is dead and buried). Not giving up, Vivian seeks the services of other detectives--some weirdos known as 'the Norwegians'. They actually are Norwegians--ex-Norwegian homicide cops who now are very determined private dicks.

When the Norwegians arrive, Olive seems taken with them and volunteers to help them. Frankly, I think she did this just to get the really cool jacket! Regardless, by the end of the show a hidden benefactor saves the day--but who is this helper and why?! We learn that despite Chuck's gut feeling, it's NOT her 'loving father'.

Once again, the show is well written and acted--plus a lot of fun, but no new deaths....what a shame!
