I love Carla!! Who cares if they are told ahead of time what they are going to make!! I love it!! I find the Hostess hilarious and refreshing. This is a positive cooking show and I hope they have a second season!!!!

Easy watch. In the similar vein to Great British Bake-off there is no drama or rivalry. The judges give constructive feedback. The ideas that come out of this are simply mind blowing. Interesting concepts and overall just a pleasant show. I hope there are more.

As one who has an interest in food preparation and presentation, I was impressed by the culinary skills of the contestants, and tried to ignore the extraneous theatrics as much as possible. The professional chef judges added some helpful commentary (despite the fact that they were foolishly portrayed as food gods). I found the host ("presenter," as the British say) to be very unappealing and indelicate; she seemed an odd choice to include in a creative cookery competition. Despite its drawbacks, I remain impressed by the talented contestants.

I'm not a food show or reality tv watcher and at first I thought this would be a campy, silly show that my daughter would enjoy (the set is not the best - feels like an Alice in Wonderland world) - it has been over a week and I still think about this show, not because of the food, not because of the "celebs" - I had never heard of any of them - but I think of this show because everyone was so KIND - you can lose a competition, or judge a competition and still be KIND!! - I fell in love with the host, the judges and almost every competitor because they had a lovely nature, were supportive and still spoke their minds and told the truth without trying to destroy anyone's soul - It made me happy to see so many happy spirits out their competing and still being amazing human beings - Well Done! and Thank you!

Reminds me of the great canadian baking show ( i haven't watched the original sorry ) and the big flower fight, extravagant sets and bright colours but ALWAYS cringey hosts. like it's not difficult to get hosts that are fun but notttt soooo lame. hehe, maybe it's because im not british or something i dont find the hosts' jokes as funny ?? but it's just annoying.
by the description i thought it'd be way different, instead of reinventing food i thought they'd remake historical food or something, maybe im illiterate??
other than that, okay contestants, judges were fair and not horrible.

I think a lot of the lower scoring reviews were expecting high stakes competition resulting in culinary masterpieces. There's enough shows like that already.
Crazy Delicious is light hearted and enjoyable fun where the judges will try to find the positives in every dish. There's no heart wrenching backstories about how somebody is there to make their late uncle proud or sweaty tear filled countdowns. The point of this show is fun and fun is what we need right now.

Great concept but falls short. Patents who get creative with cooking foods to entice your children to eat will love this show. Inventive cooking competition that talks more than showing the actual cooking. Too many cut scenes. Host dress is tacky and cheap looking in trying to be whimsical with extreme blue eye shadow it is distracting. A few tweaks this could be great. Still worth watching.

I love the show. It is a lot of fun and very whimsical. Jayde Adams is great as the host, but she is constantly putting herself down and making fat jokes about herself. It is really uncomfortable. And the editing makes it uncomfortable as well since it basically cuts to the next part as if everyone does not know how to react.
I wish she would love herself because it would make her hosting even better.

For one thing I enjoy watching competitions. but the thing I love about it is to watch talented people showcasing their skills. I am not the one for extended back grounds of the contestants, I'd rather see more action.
For a while I have been bored with the similar set ups for cooking shows... so this magical forest feels very fresh! And even though the reciepes are peculiar and not for everyone, I can feel the joy of creating something stunning in the kitchen both by the judges and the contestans.
of course it is not perfect. I would like to see the executions better (maybe an online recipe site), and ofcourse it is scripted (how can they keep the garden full with the ingredients they need if they dont know before hand) jokes may not be for everyone neither. So if you like shows with shiny set pieces with long backgrounds of contestants dont watch this.
But I find this fairytale set up very refreshing, creative and it is definitely a feel-good series

I really thought this show would center around the whole "foraging for food" aspect. It really doesn't, like at all, it's just another cooking show and super staged. They obviously know what they're going to cook for each round so I'm really not sure what the point of foraging for ingredients really is? It could have been cool

I'm very on the fence about this show. On one hand, watching the contestants create is interesting, but the garden theme and the whole god schtick was just too childish for me.
I suspect that having Bethie (contestant) in the first episode break into song every time the camera turned her way started the show off poorly for me. It was distracting for the other contestants, and was annoying and self serving. I hated that she kept singing; was she looking for a gig? She was indignant to be told she was going home and even said that her singing was the whole highlight of her time there. Sheesh, what an ego.
I wasn't too keen on the judges. I have no idea who they are, but they were a bit off. The fact that they went to the prep counters and actually handled food to be eaten by someone with their bare hands was very off putting. That was disgusting.
As the Golden Apple is the prize, well it's not real gold and has no monetary value, so that won't be much of an incentive to go on the show for some people.
I just don't think this show will succeed and why it didn't succeed with me, and why I ultimately stopped watching after three episodes was because the primary theme for food were burgers, pizzas, picnics. Whilst the contestants were innovative and creative, the themes were so boring and basic. I don't eat burgers, or pizzas...blah, so it couldn't hold my attention. I just didn't want to keep watching to find out, yet again, how they can reinvent take out food.

I love the garden atmosphere. Many contestants have crazy, creative recipes which are very inspiring. The one big negative I have to mention is from episode 5. Elainea had this habit of sticking a finger in her food to taste test it, lick her finger, and go back to preparing food! I can't believe I have to say this to a cooking show, but that is extremely unsanitary and a big no no when cooking food! I'm surprised that the producers, directors, or anyone else who proofs these shows before they air didn't catch that! In the future, please school your contestants on sanitary practices before filming.

I love this cookery show. As a big fan of Heston's - it you like unique pairings of food, this show pushes the boundaries and the contestants exhibit food in a completely new way. And with Jayde Adams as the host, it's very entertaining. Hoping for a second season!

I hated there were only 6 episodes. I really enjoyed watching this show, and I don't care for a whole lot of different cooking Tv series. So, I hope they make the next season longer than this one. I also wish there were more than 3 contestants. I love the fact they cook from one ingredient in the first round, have to reinvent on simple item in the second, and have to reinvent a whole feast in the third. The staging is quite appealing, it seems like its from Willa Wonka. I truly like the show and would recommend it.

Crazy Delicious is a really strange new cookery competition programme produced for Channel 4 in the UK, which will also be available via Netflix. It instantly wins the prize for THE most pretentious cookery show on British television.
The foodie contestants are challenged to take humble ingredients such as strawberries and everyday foods like hot dogs and come up with their own unique (often bizarre) dishes. The dishes are tasted by the panel of 3 judges, contestants eliminated and a winner for each episode declared. Comedian Jayde Adams is the host. Sounds like other cookery shows? Think again.
The contestants have to get some of the ingredients for their recipe from a "magical" edible set that looks like something out of a Tim Burton film and has rabbits and things running around it! The judges are dubbed "Food Gods" and wear togas. The prize awarded to the winner of each episode is a golden apple. Once they have made their dish the contestants have to ascend a stairway to present their offering to the food gods. Jayde Adams hovers around the contestants saying Wow (a lot) and trying to make "funny" observations - when she is particularly impressed/excited/bored she says Wwwoooooooooooooowwwwww!!!. The recipes frequently involve stomach-churning "experimental" combinations of ingredients such as mackerel and chocolate. In essence the whole programme is simply bizarre from beginning to end. Crazy...yes, Delicious...no.
Maybe, just maybe, there will be enough people dotted around the world who are looking for a very quirky, highly unusual new take on the standard cookery competition to make this work on Netflix - however it has flopped very badly here in the UK and is unlikely to be re-commissioned by Channel 4.

First off, the all round structure. It's not groundbreaking, and it doesn't do anything particularly interesting with its challenges. The concept of a willy wonka style "everything is edible" room to get ingredients from really didn't play much of a role and seems like a LOT of wasted effort for a backdrop.
Round 1 is "magic ingredient," the contestants need to feature a specific ingredient. It's been done well before, here it's poor. They keep picking really generic ingreadients to feature like apples, tomatoes, and mushroom. In what world are those challenging or entertaining over seeing something weird and harder to use. On the plue side, contestants know the challenges ahead of time and the show doesn't pretend it's a surprise.
Round 2 is "the reinvention," again something we've seen before; take a well known food and present it in a new way. The rules seem unclear about this and many contestants take it in different ways that make the judges frown on their work.
Round 3 is "the final feast," which seems to be basically the exact same as round 2 but with a broader theme, like picnic compared to hamburger.
In terms of the judges/host. First, calling your judges "food gods" its pretty pretentious. I think they were aiming for the gods coming down from the heavens to a garden of eden to try the food, but it was never really referenced and just came off as uppity.
I didn't mind Jayde, the host, she had some funny moments, but I can see how she'd rub some people the wrong way. Carla, in any other situation I would have found a bit obnoxious and over the top, however alongside the two masters of bland personality, she was needed. Heston, whoever he is, may be famous for being great at cooking, but he has all the personality of white bread. Niklas barely spoke from start to finish, and watching him take a bite of any food gives far too much insight into what his face looks like in moments of... intimacy. Contestants were really dime-a-dozen, except the first episode where you really wish you were there for the tactile pleasure of smacking an annoying tool.
All in all, it's not bad, it's just very short and doesn't do anything that other shows haven't done better.

Some of the dishes that we're created were literally jaw dropping! Especially on episode 3! Even if they were thought of ahead of time, they were spectacular! I really hope to watch more seasons, I loved it! And the host, Jayde, was super funny!

Why can't a cooking show be mainly about the cooking? I was halfway through the first episode before I even noticed the contestants. I didn't even realize there were only three for quite a while. The host is like a cross between Glenda the Good and Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. The set looks like it came straight out of Willy Wonka - edible cups! And the judges are dressed all in white and peering over hedges at the cooks while they work. It's just too odd and distracting. I love a good cooking show. But this feels like they are trying to distract the viewers so they don't notice the cooks or the food. I just finished episode one and I couldn't tell you any of the cook's names and very little about what they made. Not really what I was looking for in a show.

There are so many cooking competition shows now. This show DEFINITELY isn't one of them. The host Jayde Adams is phenomenal with her comedic timing and delivery.
The show has contestants of varying ages and backgrounds. I found it difficult deciding on just one contestant in every episode.
The judges are iconic without coming across as arrogant. They're top of their careers, give constructive feedback, and do not destroy the contestants.
The food showcased is amazing at the different, crazy, and creative dishes.
Lastly the set. Edibles! Fantastic.
I found myself laughing, crying, cheering, and getting hungry.
The show has contestants of varying ages and backgrounds. I found it difficult deciding on just one contestant in every episode.
The judges are iconic without coming across as arrogant. They're top of their careers, give constructive feedback, and do not destroy the contestants.
