Creepy Episode
mitchrmp19 July 2016
This is a very creepy episode, mainly because I've watched these once and know who the new apprentice is. It shows a flash of him at the end. I actually paused it to see, and...well, let's just say that it does look a lot like him. But there is absolutely no hint that it is him...

And Booth's shooting at the end. I think he's pretty much mad at everyone - including Brennan - so I'm not sure who he was thinking about when he was target practicing.

We also see Brennan kiss Booth - on the cheek. Booth is obviously affected by this as he tries to quickly recover from it...

This is the second actual Gormogon story (you can count it the third if you ant to include the episode where they name him). I believe there is one more story - the finale where everything's revealed and it is really, really, really bad!!!

Gorgonzola Strikes Again

It's hard at times to review ongoing mystery shows because of their episodic nature. We aren't half way there. What we do have is some interesting uncovering of evidence and a treatise on the 16th century. I like that Sweets is active in looking into the events, even though his reason for being is his evaluation of B & B. If I may use letters like this. Imagine a bomb made up of teeth for shrapnel. That's pretty cool. We also have the subplots of Boone and Brennan getting closer all the time as her brother ends up in jail because his girlfriend's little girl has cystic fibrosis (a very serious disease). The ending, of course, shows no stone has been left unturned.

A few bloopers in this.

Warning: Spoilers
Hi Bone Booth.

Greetings from English Jan.

I have questions, but more of that later.

Cam and Booth are at a crime scene without Bones that is pushing the envelope.

Bloody kneecaps are sent in the post to Dr B. Yuck, but she takes it all in her stride.

Is it me, or does Zak come across as bossy in this episode? First, when he identifies the knife, then when he tells Booth and Bones about the victim.

The cemetery scene - echos of David's previous character Angel? This point is driven home by the opening of this scene which opens on an Angel. Booth is very possessive of his tool- Ha, ha. Not wanting to share it with Hodgins. I'm not sure if this was meant to be funny or not, but it tickled me.

When Booth takes Russ to the hospital, it appears that he's had a quick change of clothing., going from suit and tie to t-shirt and jeans. A rare continuity lapse?

I love the little swallow Booth does after Bones plants a kiss on his cheek to say thanks. Priceless.

After the bomb explodes, Booth's first thought is of Bones. Nice. Booth pulling out the tooth of Bone's arm - Yuck!

Another continuity blooper. When Hodgins and Sweets are talking about Gormagon, on the board behind Hodgins are all the leading players in the investigation. The Old man/Master/ Auther Graves is clearly visible, but they don't know who he is yet at this point in the story. Whoops.

Russ's shirt has some odd red stains in the Judge's chambers without explaining why they should be there. These mysterious stains vanish once Russ is outside the Judge's room. I love this scene with Miss Julieanne doing her thing. That's worth a few stars right there.

the best episode since the aliens in a spaceship

Warning: Spoilers
i love this program! this episode was directed so well and the casting of the "corrupter" fitted the criteria. this is definitely the best episode of series 3 so far and really leaves a cliff hanger to the unravelling of the killer throughout this series. You can see how close the pair (bones and booth) are during the episode. further more the witty banter between Zach and Hodgins with their "king of the lab" antics adds to the comic undertone of the episode, not to mention Angela Montenegro's sassy comments tat she throws in to prove her ignorance to the "squint talk". Also, Sweets, the new regular cast member makes for a much needed extra insight or brain throughout the show. 2 thumbs up or should i say 2 "phalange's" up

"Amen, Monsignor. Amen." "Thanks, Steve."
NancyPi31416 November 2021
Brennan is everything in this episode! Having a pulmonologist friend take care of her brother's sick step daughter is incredibly sweet. Her familiarity with Archbishop Wallace/Monsignor/Steve never ceases to crack me up. Her oblivious, bad acting in the Gormogon vault is one of the greatest gifts this show has bestowed upon us. Misunderstanding Caroline saying she, "did not hear that," and then loudly repeating the fact that Booth lied to a federal prosecutor is just, wow.

Honorable mention to the Honorable Judge Watkins who says that in lieu of banging his gavel, the last one to leave his chambers just slam the door.

Hey Bones Booth Pod!

Warning: Spoilers
Yes Cam woman is right! Cystic fibrosis is such a heartbreaking terrible disease poor little girl. If my mail started bleeding I would not open it or be that calm. I however would be like Sweets in the autopsy room gross. I really don't think it makes it better that only part of the victim was eaten guys. Happy Russ is back and atleast he got to see Haley before Booth booked him. Could you be anymore conspicuous with your yelling Bones sheesh. Given the case currently being worked on I believe Hodgins is justified in some of his paranoia. Love to see Caroline back and her whole interaction with Bones. Not cool Bones ratting Booth out twice.

Bore-Me-Gone

Warning: Spoilers
I must admit I am not crazy about these Gormogon episodes, just as I was never fond of the conspiracy episodes of THE X FILES. Gormogon bores me. The gang is closing in on this flesh-eating killer in this episode, so he decides to turn the tables on them and tries to kill B&B while he goes about his ritualistic work. What might play OK on the printed page does not fare so well on screen. More interesting is the subplot involving the return of Brennan's fugitive brother, so that he can see his sick stepdaughter. Brennan's dad figures into that return. We get to meet the previous Gormogon, by the way, for those who are into this story arc.
