Sex & Nudity

  • The sexual content is somewhat toned down compared to Game of Thrones, with scenes being less drawn out and less outright explicit (some episodes have none at all), but it's still pretty graphic in its own right and has a decent amount of scenes with graphic nudity. Including an incestuous relationship.
  • Multiple sex scenes, not as severe as Game of Thrones.
  • A teen boy masturbates out of his window before he's interrupted by his mother, we see his bottom.
  • A man masturbates to a woman's feet, we don't see anything.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a sequence involving soldiers brutally murdering people with swords. Limbs are shown getting chopped off. Severed heads and mangled chopped up limbs are shown in a wheelbarrow.
  • A woman who's in labor has her womb cut open to take out the child. Blood is shown with screaming.
  • Several shots of men being nailed to posts and fed alive to crabs. This is brief but disturbing.
  • An intense battle sequence involving many blunt weapons. Many quick shots of heads being caved in and limbs being pulverized.
  • Many soldiers are burned alive by dragons, some are seen screaming and running while engulfed in flames, others are completely disintegrated.
  • Severe graphic violence in almost every single episode in the show so far.
  • Very gory and realistic imaging of childbirths throughout the show, with detailed sound effects to further enforce the realism.
  • Blood, mutilated flesh, other gruesome images common. Many killings and brutal attacks: hitting, screaming, vicious removal of body parts, including male genitals. Weapons include swords, knives, other medieval contraptions. A woman is cut open to save her unborn baby.
  • Scenes have a frequent focus on blood and strong gory images.
  • A man has his head cut in half horizontally, we see the inside of his head, including his tongue and bottom teeth. Very sudden and shocking.

Profanity

  • 'Fuck' is used pretty frequently throughout the series so far, it varies between 2 to 7 uses per episode, some episodes being more profane than the others. 'Shit', 'cunt', 'cock', 'bitch', 'whore', 'wench', 'twat' and 'bastard' are all used as well.
  • 28 uses of 'fuck' in the show.
  • Curses range from "fuck" and "shit" to crude language like "cunt."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol (mostly wine) is frequently consumed.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • One antagonist has burns and sores covering his body, and wears a mask that appears to be fused to his face. He does not speak and carries himself in a very unnerving way.
  • Multiple miscarriages are depicted in the show.

  • Lucerys and his dragon are snatched out of the air by Vhagar and ripped into pieces and dropped into the sea

Frightening & Intense Scenes
