Violence & Gore

  • A horse tells about a shameful, cold-blooded act in which some people cut up his tail when he was much younger, for something called "docking".
  • A female horse describes Black Beauty about why she bites sometimes. In her flashback, several people try to harness her in a kinda hurtful way. A man is bitten in his hand by the horse. The same horse also mentions kicking people for the same reason: Harnessing.
  • A bridge is shown to be washed out by some flood. Black Beauty has saved a man by not to run any longer.
  • A woman has fallen ill and can die anytime, and later becomes fine. This is all mentioned, not shown.
  • A storm causes a lamb to fall on a haystack, and thus the horse stables is burned. Nobody dies, but Jenny has inhaled smoke from the fire.
  • When two men are ordered by a lady to get two horses' heads higher up using harness, both horses become wild and panic. Ginger accidentally kicks and slashes Black Beauty's foot, but the wound isn't shown at all.

Profanity

  • Very mild language. Nothing which could be harmful for any children.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Right before Jenny and Black Beauty reaches a doctor, you can briefly see a man holding his pipe.
  • Two men appear to be drunkards. But what they had drunk is neither shown or mentioned.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scene with the horse stables burning down may scare some young children a bit.
  • Some of the later scenes may be emotionally sad sometimes.
  • This cartoon film is suitable for everybody.
