With 'Chained Lightning' we get the introduction of Shrinking Violet (I think she has appeared in the background, but this episode saw her step forward, front and center), and we also learn Lightning Lad and Lightning Lord's origin, and we also see the appearance of their sister, Ayla.

Much of how this took place was fairly accurate. Garth (Lightning Lad) and Ayla appear much younger, but there never really was any age given for them in the comic book, not that it mattered.

An interesting twist was Ayla frozen in time for ten years. So where does that leave the series? Well, if Ayla (who became Lightning Lass, then Light Lass, then Lightning Lass and last I hoid, she was Gossamer, a return to the Light Lass powers) follows thru with the comic book plot, she should be 'paired' up with Timberwolf.

Now they were down-and-out lovers in the comic book, but I don't see the cartoon going that route.

Clearly they will go the route of Rogue (who also became much younger for the Xmen movies) and Wolverine; the infatuated young girl tagging along after the violent hero and they form a bond.

Should be interesting to see how this one plays out.

As an old comic book reader tho, I am really enjoying seeing the old plots and how they are handled in the cartoon.

And for those who don't know, Lightning Lad did lose his arm temporarily in the comic books. Alien technology saw it return.
