The village of Dunstan, where this episode takes place, seems to be the village where Detective Sergeant Jones grew up, as he attended the same primary school and is acquainted with several of the protagonists from childhood. The Sergeant's Welsh accent is true to character though, since his family moved from Wales to this village when the sergeant was a child.
Maggie Steed, who plays Lynne Fox in this episode, has appeared in Midsomer Murders (1997) previously. She played Most Beautiful Village co-judge Rosemary Furman in Judgement Day (2000).
