He's always been creepy

The long-awaited sequel is out! This is the sequel to the 2019 film and takes place about 20 years later. Okay. The rule is if you are going to make a sequel that takes place 20 years later there are two prerequisites. One is 20 years must have passed. the second is you must have made a film people would remember 20 years later.

A group of young adults which includes an adult Cory (Jake Watkins) go to a remote area (cabin-in-the-woods) cue spinner and we get Tooth Fairy. They seriously needed to work on the sound which had dead air static. Katie McKenna has a few good scenes which showed potential.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

I can't believe this script got made into a real movie. Now, whenever I decide to post a comment after viewing a horror I start by taking in consideration the budget: that one right there is the deal breaker or maker.

Clearly Toothfairy 2 was done with a micro budget, so I am going to cut it some slack. After doing so, let's talk about it a little. Everything was truly painful to watch, and such productions are usually mythical, yet, here I am holding hands with one. Seriously nothing good to say about it sadly, thus I am going to give it 2 stars, not 1 because I have seen worse, but one more shouldn't really make a difference. No reason to recommend it, no idea how this was green lighted, all in all, I just don't want to get into it too much.

Trust me when I say this: it sadly is a complete waste of time and money. I don't think such a movie will help anyone's career if that is what they were thinking. Also, the Toothfairy itself, Oh..My..God. I genuinely thought it was a joke, but no...that's its appearance here. Anyway stay away! You have been warned!

Best part - camera work in kitchen

About 54 or 55 minutes in, the kitchen scene where four or five of the characters are arguing - for me - this is the best part. The camera work is so bad, its actually funny to watch. That's it. Sorry.

Well, initially I was lured in by the cover/poster for "Toothfairy 2", as it actually looked rather interesting. Granted, I didn't really believe that this was going to be a masterpiece within the horror genre. But still, I believe in watching a movie and giving it a chance; especially when it is a movie I haven't seen before.

Right, well "Toothfairy 2" was bad. It was just downright atrocious and abysmal. In fact, it was so bad that I didn't even make it halfway through. I just simply gave up on it, as the storyline was way too mediocre, but worse yet were the special effects and make-up. And that was the reason why this movie died for me; I just couldn't stand looking at those horrible special effects.

Now, it didn't really work in favor of "Toothfairy 2" with the level of acting that was put on by the actors and actresses in the movie. Let's just say that they tried, and leave it at that.

"Toothfairy 2" felt more like a home video project than it actually felt like a properly produced movie. Now, some might actually like that approach for a movie and find it charming and enjoyable. I, however, am not one such person. I watch a movie with the intention of being properly entertained by a movie that is properly made.

I am rating "Toothfairy 2" a more than generous two out of ten stars. It was bad, yeah, but it wasn't up among the worst of movies that I have had the misfortune of suffering through. However, I have no intention of returning to ever watch the rest of this movie.

Painfully crap

Oh my freaking good god this is one of those 'movies' that are sooo bad you start to get angry at yourself for actually sitting through it like a to while you keep looking at the clock! What an amateur cheapie mess, annoying nonentity poser actors, some of which are faking bad American accents for no reason I could discern, it doesn't even look like a movie as there's no real cinematography to speak of just ugly amateur camera work of bland washed out rooms, absolutely pathetic insult of a monster, just looked like a child's lazy attempt at a Halloween costume with some idiot in a cloak and a cheap plastic mask and a laughable voice effect...it's actually quite astonishing that efforts this bad are still being made and put out there in 2020! Lloyd Kaufman would be proud, although his movies are always at least fun to watch. It's a Solid zero, less than that even, a complete nothing of a picture with no more impact or presence than a mere fart in the wind, nothing but an awkward and painful slog every step of the way, I believe that having your teeth actually yanked out would be more fun than having to watch this rancid salted gutter fire garbage, one effort that I'll forget in no time at all but I won't forgive! And that's the tooth! Ha x

The main character was cute

The movie is more like a home project than an actual low-budget movie. Effects are so poor. Actors and actresses are not that good. Camera handling is too way bad. In a couple of words, it is perversely lame. Event all that, the main character is cute. He's the only reason I rated it with 2 Stars.

Believe me when I tell you I could have made it better, and I am not even a youtuber!

Honestly, this looks more like a junior high mid term project, than a first real movie project!

I don;t think the guys are real actors, and perhaps, the movie was shot with a cheap cell phone!

The sound is also horrible!

Elementary School Project?

This was so bad it was painfully annoying! As bad as it is in every aspect - acting, script, lighting, camera work - the worst part was the audio! During silent portions, the silence was, well... silent. You heard the sound effects - birds chirping and what-have-you - but as soon as someone would talk, you could hear pink noise in the background. This was most noticeable when there was a pause in between sentences. It sounded like the vocal track was recorded in open air without any kind of noise dampeners (think built-in microphones on handheld audio recorders) and then cut apart to attempt to reduce the amount of noise present throughout. Oh... and sound effects? Good grief! When someone is walking, I think they literally used the old sound effects trick from back in the days of radio shows - clopping shoes on a surface right in front of the microphone. Nobody walks THAT loudly in real life! Especially not in the woods!

Then you have the lighting. Of course, the scenes were it with modern day hollywood bulbs. That is to say that you have three lamps in a room and all three somehow only seem able to light a three foot circle around each bulb. The rest of the room is in almost total darkness. I don't know why or when this became the standard lighting scheme for hollywood, but I wish they'd quit it.

The acting is just pitiful. The tooth fairy is just playing dress up. Nothing makes any sense... I mean, these people are supposed to be going to a school reunion, but there is only seven people and two of them look too old to have been in the same class with the others. And who goes to a school reunion out in the woods anyway?

I wasted my time so that you don't have to. You're welcome.

Now that's one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

This movie ruined British horror for me.

Don't bother watching this movie.

Return of the franchise

The idea that all of this might be nothing more than the murderous rampage of a traumatised individual is a good one. It helps push Return of the Tooth Fairy into more believable territories and keeps you guessing for a lot of its runtime. Return of the Tooth Fairy wants you to question Corey's mindset, but also to wonder about the people around him. What if, one of them, is the killer and using Corey as their means to an end? It's these performances that slow down the story and makes it hard to get invested in the character's plight. Though, that being said Return of the Tooth Fairy is an improvement over the original movie. While it didn't need to do much to better it, there's some clear effort to make this a more enjoyable movie and it pays off, for the most part.

A fine follow-up undone by several factors

Coerced into attending a special reunion, a man tries to use the opportunity to have a second chance at a childhood crush he couldn't make a move on before, but when a prank to summon a demon goes wrong, he finds himself forced to confront a familiar foe to save his friends and his sanity.

This was a pretty decent follow-up that has some likable elements. Among the better features here is the enjoyable amount of work to connect this to the previous entry. Making the lead one of the survivors who's now haunted by the events to the point of near-reclusion from his friends who are now focused on work is a fine idea, while the vengeful student seeking to get back at him for what happened is a nice twist. This causes the series of his hallucinations and visions to be quite creepy as it's unknown if he's going crazy from the trauma, it's all just dreams, or if they're actually real. That all makes the film fun when the spirit is confirmed and the attacks start proving real. With an incredibly eerie attack on an unsuspecting family to get this going, the main attacks on the group at the house where it mimics the other members to try to get someone alone is quite creepy due to the obvious possession elements that go unnoticed here. As well, with the one-by-one encounters where they find it in the dizzying corn maze, the series of chases throughout the house and a fun series of interruptions and distractions offer up some action and creepiness to the whole thing, making for plenty of positives to be had here. There are some issues with the film. One of the major factors featured here is the inherently lame motivation and reasoning for anything happening. This mostly applies to why he wants to release the creature, as the revenge angle makes no sense being the age he was during the attacks to be able to pull it off with any sort of malicious intent. The guy comes off as irrationally spiteful as well as stupid for suggesting it in the first place, the plan to pull it off is unnecessarily elaboration for the unworthwhile information and the entire setup here seems misguided to make him look like a jerk for no reason without the proper motivation. The other real issue with this one is the obvious scenes trying to hide the film's low-budget nature. As the deaths offer nothing more than bloody mouths and gum from unseen tooth removals, the practical effects aren't too expensive at all while the mask looks the same as the original, only given much more screentime. There's also the curious lack of gunshots heard for some moments which stands out quite obviously, and the underwhelming confrontation with the being is a direct result of not having more to do for a finale. It's not as detrimental as the other factors but lowers it enough.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

What we have is a tiresome rethread of every ghostly/imaginary monster/demonic story ever told in a painfully slow way. It's less a horror and more of a family drama which does not make good viewing even if Claire-Maria Fox tries her hardest to light up the screen.
