Not a lot going on in this movie. The love interest story was pretty obvious from the start. You have your standard set of characters - under-confident girl, boyfriend, kooky brother, overlooked love interest, angry grandma, mandatory lesbian couple, suspicious home-wrecker, boring parents.
It's not boring, but never evokes a significant laugh - sad in a way, as I think it is supposed to be a comedy. There is a moderate pace to the story, things tick along, but I can't really recommend it unless you are out of options. This is the sort of movie that is perfect for a a long distance flight when you have seen everything else.

Come on it's as close as you can get to a Hallmark Christmas film that isn't one. It's predicable and cheesy but it has its moments. The story is fine and the acting is on par. Watch the trailer. If it looks good to you then watch the film.
I thought it was rather cute & funny. Typical BF/GF problems & family problems. It was a nice break from Christmas movies.

There is nothing redeeming about this stupid poorly acted, poorly scripted yawn of a film - I have no idea how it ever get on tv.
I adore this movie! Yes, it isn't the best movie, but the chemistry is fantastic. Olivia Holt and Ben Levin are amazing together as Dean and Lucy. The whole family chemistry felt genuine and like they've known each for years. The story was great and the romance was perfect. I really hope they make a sequel!
Plus, being able to see a Thanksgiving movie for a change was nice.

Boring and a waste of time that's never worth watching, I put 3 stars only for the movie crew but the movie doesn't deserve one star I'm sorry ...

Olivia Holt appears to be a good person but here even her personality can't save this badly written Thanksgiving/Christmas mess. Early on she's in a shower clearly in her underwear, yet it is described as being nude. That's the highlight, as the storyline consists of the requisite virgin getting her convictions ignored by a conniving bad boy who enjoys manipulating her away from the bland boy she loves. Not a film that'll be rerun often.

College freshman Lucy Jacobs (Olivia Holt) is doing the long distance dating with her high school sweetheart Jordan. She's going home for Thanksgiving and her roommate tells her about Turkey Drop. It's slang for getting dump in her exact situation. Now she's obsessed and fearful of getting dumped by Jordan. Her mother (Cheryl Hines) is changing everything and her father is worried of getting dumped himself. She also hates the family house guest Dean who could have a crush on her.
Olivia Holt is cute and I love Cheryl Hines. Outside of those two, this is a rather predictable and flat TV movie. The movie-making is straight up TV level or worst. The dad needs to be better to make that story work. He's trying too hard and not enough. Same goes for Jordan. He's just not interesting enough to dislike. Dean is slightly better but this movie desperately needs a better third actor. Cheryl Hines needs some funnier material. At least, they try to give Olivia Holt a few funny bits. I don't mind the Lucy Dean pairing but this is not a good movie.
