priyanshinaredi26 December 2021
I have recently got obsession for sports anime and definitely this is not shame I really like this one.. It is also slice of life and not going of the track telling what happens at home but still keep fighting the best.... Like it alot...

Guys with overcomplex lives doing their best
Ladiloque24 June 2021
Niche sport themed, slice of life drama with mostly male high school MCs. Some life lessons, male-male affection, abundance of family dramas, elegant drawings/animations, nice music and dark plotlines.

A passable watch for a mature teen anime or if these tags are what you're looking for, but more of a missed opportunity otherwise.

While the sport gives it a reason to exist and allows for some character developement, in some way it takes away so much space that could have been spent much better. Indeed, who cares about soft tennis? They could have played curling, chess or beer pong and nothing would have changed... Big commercial successes usually are insufferably bad but just for the sake of marketing analisys: even if sport themed series may not be over as a genre, this is certainly not the angle from which we will get the next "Attack n.1", "Tsubasa" or "Slam Dunk". So why forcing people to spend more than half of the running time watching this drivel?

More than I expected, highly recommend

This show is really good, it's so much more than just a typical sports anime. It deals with serious themes and can be hard hitting at times. So far I'm loving it and the characters are warm and realistic. I seriously hope it does well, if you haven't watched it yet please do, also be sure to stay around till after the credits or you can miss something important. Was supposed to be a 24 episode series but got cut to 12 but the writer wants to complete it when possible, so likely to get continued if supported for anyone who has heard the ending isn't finished it's because there is supposed to be more after it. Really hoping for more, I love this show so much

Despite the genre, not a sports anime
KamekoHoshina13 December 2019
I came into this anime expecting it to be another sports anime. Instead week after week my hearts breaks a little for each of these characters as their backstory gets told and their home life is revealed. I've cried way too many times this season. This is one of the best anime I've seen in a long time and it's going to make you feel things.

A tale of Grit and Passion
DeadM4n12 November 2019
You might say "Another sports anime? come on". You are wrong, even unlike Haikyuu this anime takes on more Slice of Life approach and kids with some serious heavy baggage they carry. Just like any person on earth has problem, these kids have too and not many, almost 99% of the anime have overlooked this part of the characters life. But not this anime. So far not many episodes have been released, so this anime might become and discard the only beautiful and unique thing it has, Slice Of Life! But let's hope this anime meets the expectations it has created in the first 5 episodes.

all in all, this is a very unique sports anime and has a good style so far.

MUST WATCH!!!

People keep saying that it's not a sports anime.. So what? I think it's more than that. It's about REAL LIFE STRUGGLES! I've found it really unique and ON point! Yes, I'm disappointed that it has finished but I'd like to support it! It's been a while since I've watched something so noteworthy!

Really deserving of support

So, this is a sweet friendship anime about tennis, yes. However it is far more than that too and does not shy away from serious topics. I really recommend this show, it is very very good, and talks about some very real issues that need to be discussed. It isn't afraid to do this realistically and therefore many issues dont just get wrapped up happily, this in my opinion makes it a very real show. I truly believe this show is a gem, it made me so happy and yet was able to break my heart in other scenes.

One thing to note about lower reviews on some sites, This anime was cut down from 12 episodes to 24 too late to change the plot, this is only the first half and sadly a lot of reviews on sites don't realise this and are judging It without this in mind, as some issues are left unresolved because there is supposed to be another 12 episodes which the director intends to make. If you watch it and like it I recommend showing support if you can .

Unique and realistic!

The anime isn't really your typical sports anime, to put it shortly it's like Magical Madoka. There are several incidents that are touched upon and are very well written in. Your characters seem almost dislikable at the start however they grow and mature which you dont see in most anime . I highly recommend this as it shows how something as simple as soft tennis (unofficial tennis) is an escape for people who have very bad problems at home and their team mates help them cope with their issues in a healthier way.

I came for the tennis and ended up crying
lontaan_jessica16 February 2020
I thought this was gonna be like a new generation of Prince of Tennis, I was wrong. It's about a friendship that resulted in a very good teamwork but it's also about the issues in families and teenagers today and I like the fact that they focus on the boys cause it's hard for boys to talk about their feelings. I really do hope this doesn't end badly

It's good
NoctemGlyster13 April 2020
I enjoyed it, it's not the best anime out there but it's entertaining. I liked the friendships, the representation and the message that tries to convey: everyone struggles with something. Recommend.

Potential to be a classic anime!!!!
brooked-3364719 January 2020
It's not a pure sports anime...But if you can get over that it is probably one of the best anime dramas in recent history... I play sports in high school and I can relate so much to every single one of these characters...Sometimes the only place you can get away from your problems is out on the field or court...And sometimes the only family you really have are your teammates...It's a must watch...I promise you it will have you begging for more!!!!

Nice anime but such a waste that there's no season 2
jianneho21 August 2020
Nice flow through out the whole anime, the pace of it is suitable. The sport part of the anime is smooth as well. You will love it if you are seeking for an anime with nice scene. Unlike other sports anime, it's not only about sports. It includes other problems that teenagers may face which is so realistic to the audience. I love the fact that you can all relate to the characters some how. The ending might be sudden to all of us, as this anime was taken off the air in the middle of producing. Originally it has 24 episodes, but being cut off to 12, the director of the anime decided to follow the original planning. That's the reason why the ending seems so sudden. Predictably, it will not have season 2. However, I still hope that there will be season 2 in the future, as it will definitely push the anime to another level for sure.
