Incredible!!

This is the best concert I have ever seen. Ben's voice is angelic and I honestly watched it twice in one night, it was THAT good. Every song was sung with such passion and he made it feel like I was actually there in the moment. It was wonderfully shot, directed, and performed. Watch this, you won't regret it!

A concert to remember

I was actually there that night when it happened and watching this concert again is as if I went back in time and re-experienced it live. Ben, the backup singers and band ARE what make the show what it is. If you're looking to listen to some original music from the Tony and Grammy winning actor/singer-songwriter from "Pitch Perfect," "The Politician" and "Dear Evan Hansen," this is the place to hear it.

(PS: I make a cameo 38 min. into the special during the beginning of "Share Your Address.").

Amazing!

Every single song was magic and I almost felt like I was there. Ben has a beautiful soul that shines through the entire concert. I'm going to be watching this again and again.

I'm a Ben Platt fan, but this didn't do it for me Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert: He doesn't sing anything from Dear Evan Hansen. On the one hand, I can understand why (he's probably sick of the material, but he also probably doesn't want to only be known for singing those songs). I think he should have, though, because he could have put a spin on a song or two from the show and made them his own. Also I think it would have been cool if he performed "Found/Tonight" which was a mashup with Lin Manuel Miranda, which showcases "The Story of Tonight" from Hamilton and "You Will Be Found" and "For Forever" from Dear Evan Hansen. How cool would that be to bring Lin Manuel to sing along with him? Radio City holds almost 6000 guests - I find it hard to believe there are 6000 people who are all huge fans of Ben's original music, which I didn't connect with that much at all. I think he should have included a few covers and maybe songs from shows he was in just so the special could be more relatable.

Wince inducing, repetitive, odd concert
jesussavedjoshua24 July 2020
The songs are too repetitive, the headjerking dance moves are odd, and the songs are too self involved. All that's truly missing from this carnival act are live moving-in-the-air finger snaps. I find it hard to believe this act filled Radio City Music Hall. The blouse Mr. Platt wears imho is an odd choice too. Some of the songs are ear piercing shrieks and the woo hoohs he does are wince inducing. The one he sang to his dad was good though.

Vocally Not

Vocally it wasn't there. Didn't like hearing that he said his back up singers were slumming it with him. Back up singers carried his voice in the whole performance. Just wasn't what I thought it would be in the previews of this video.
