Really a good film. Like other japanese films it plays with past and future and it is not so original with the plot. But character are quite deep and the trouble of lil sister are realistic and well described. At the end I really like the film.

Though the whole living ghost was a bit confusing, the film "Her Blue Sky" had a touching story.
The art was okay, but the background looked artificial and not in the same wave as the rest of the animation. The voice acting was good too.
As for the story, the relationship between the two sisters was sweet and that helped with the ending. However, the rest of the story was so so. The romance thing was just okay, but did not develop well. The rest of the characters were just there to support the action.

A Melodic Symphony of Love, Loss, and Second Chances

I never anticipated some of the turns that happened. I had initially assumed that Shinno could only be seen by Aoi, but it turned out that everyone could see him as well. When they first referred to him as an Ikiryou (a spirit left behind when the living pass away), I believed that to be the case as well. When Aoi ran home to Akane and asked her for more information about Shinno, her response, "I don't know whether he is even living or dead," solidified my belief. A few minutes later, Shinnosuke appeared as a guitarist on the Enka stage.
Even though each scene was routine, they all managed to seem unique without being excessively intimidating. I enjoyed how the filmmaker showed a drab greeting scene before a very flashy Nitobe appeared, and how the camera gradually panned to the right to show the older Shinnosuke. Having said that, the artwork was excellent but not very remarkable, which accounts for the score.
Aoi warmly reminds me of K-On! When she plays the bass. Her VA did a fantastic job, in my opinion, of capturing her emotions for Shinno, as evidenced by the way her voice quiver when she spoke to him and the way she lost it when she realized what Chika had done.
I was satisfied with the film overall enough to write such a lengthy review. Even after seeing the epilogue, though, I still have more questions, and I believe that if this movie had been released as an anime series instead of a film, it would have had a higher reception.

Fantasy + Reality = Joy

Once again director Tatsuyuki Nagai and writer Mari Okada (both did "Anthem of the Heart") have teamed up for an excellent anime depicting elements of fantasy in a reality-grounded story that most people can relate to. And the end result is an engrossing slice of life drama with gorgeous visuals and pretty good music.
Nagai directed also "Anohana the Movie." All three of these movies share the similar combination of having fantastic elements intertwined with stories of normal teenagers and young adults striving to understand their paths in life. It's an effective use of anime to give voice to what I'm sure many people have felt before.
Okada also wrote "A Whisker Away" and who is easily one of the best anime/manga writers in the industry today. In these three prime examples of her work, the protagonist is a young girl who comes to terms with growing up, supporting by a cast of fleshed out characters and situations that are very relatable.
The is what anime as a medium can do so well - give us stories and visuals which are a feast for both our souls and our eyes.
The ending song - Aoi by singer/songwriter Aimyon - is also pretty good.

Anohana's director? Sign me in.... And that how i got tricked. Tbh i love Anohana but is movie is real bad. It have a good story, good animation... But the music is real bad, i mean, it's not bad bad but it doesn't fit in at all. All the music parts that should make me had goosebumps, it did not. Then the ways they direct this movie are all wrong. The movie is slow and boring, all the emotional parts were poorly executed. Then at the very end, the whole point of the movie, all the practice and hard work of the main character was for nothing, because for some reason they cut the show that she was gonna play in, out of the movie?? Just.... Why?
