Colorful, swirly, painted musicians, who are, and always will be, my Idols, are featured in this unique documentary about a man's vision to break into the "Pop-Artist" world to gain financial freedom is what this film is all about. The giant black and white guitars that were spotted on Sunset Blvd, years ago, had always intrigued me. Finally, the director, Mark Knudson, answered the mysterious arrival of some unforgettable art that caught my eye and stayed with me. To understand these guitars, and the artist behind them, Willard Snow, was clearly done by watching this film. I truly enjoyed hearing about his early days of finding his style by admiring "Rick Griffin" album covers, encouragement from his sister Jeannie, and just the love of abstract art was relatable. And the story line from the arrival of the guitars into his life, via Gibson Guitars, the struggle to complete the contract, the involvement of friends and his now wife, Irene, to the actual delivery and completion of the guitars at the Sunset Festival, truly brought the concept of PERSEVERANCE" to life.
I highly recommend this documentary to be watched by any artist, young or old, new or experienced, in order to realize that the the visions' one has is just as important as the manifestation it takes to get to the goal. And, to "Focus on the goal." This is what Willard continues to do in order to keep his dream alive and on-going; lessons' we all need in life!
