Finally... a movie that is insulting to the eyes and ears

This film is without a doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The acting is so unbelievably bad. A second grade class musical has more convincing line delivery than any of these actors manage to achieve. The directing makes most youtube videos look like Citizen Kane. They could have saved a lot of money and went straight for a crew members cell phone without the cinematography losing a thing. The soundtrack is a listing of generic rock sounds. This is all without saying a thing about the plot, or as it should be known in this movie, the loosely pieced story that is just an excuse to show breasts and try as hard as possible to appeal to all of the teenage sensibilities. I don't know how much anyone got paid to be involved in this movie, but it was too much. Suffice it to say, all copies of this movie be destroyed immediately.

OK, I just spent an hour and a half watching this movie, another half hour making a "WTF" face and staring at the screen in disbelief, and some 10 minutes to write this comment, so all in all I've wasted more than two hours of my life.

First I'd like to say that I really, and I mean really, enjoy this type of movies, when I don't expect much and just want to relax my brain and enjoy in a few laughs. Not only that there were NO funny scenes in this movie (literally), but I also didn't relax, I mean this was brain torture! The characters are annoying, the plot is *put your favorite swear word here* stupid, the acting was awful (I have to give some credit to Jillian Murray though, she did OK, but that's about it, all the other actors sucked), the directing was even worse and I really can't find not one positive thing here. I don't know how many votes it takes to get to the bottom 100 list, but I hope it makes it there soon.

This is the first time I am giving a 1/10 to a movie (I usually try to find at least something good) and the first time I'm writing a comment here, but I just had to share my anger. Please don't watch this, staring at the wall for an hour and a half is more exciting, trust me.

I would rather chew on a brillo pad than have to watch this movie again

Where do I start? I feel ashamed that I wasted the precious minutes of my life watching this movie past the 10th minute. First, most of the actors in this movie do not even deserve the title of "actor". It felt like the person who casted this movie just asked some of his best friends to be in the movie or picked people off the street. Seriously, this was some of the worst acting I have ever seen.

The next thing you'll notice is that the sound was totally amateur. It's as if they shot the movie with a video camera and didn't even think to use a microphone. But you can tell there was a sound mixer-- who probably works at a dry cleaning shop for his day job. There are some scenes where you're supposed to believe there is a crowd watching and you can just hear how cheesy the crowd sound effect is. Really, the sound on this film is embarrassing.

The plot. Who cares? This movie was made as if they just got together and made it up as they went along. I've heard Chinese torture is pretty bad, but it ain't got nothing on this movie.

This might be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Just looking at the title, you already know that you're not going to watch an Oscar-winner. But this is 1 ½ hours that you'll never get back!!! Normally I'am well entertained with these "teenage-movies" - but throughout the whole movie I only laughed ONCE!!! Most likely, you will laugh to - and then be bored for the rest of the film just hoping that someone or something will put you out of your misery. If you're an American Pie-fan and regardless of how many times you've seen them before, see them just one more time before you spend your money on this! After reading this and you still want to see American High School - afterwards all I can say is: "I told you so!"

It's suckier than a suck.. An amazingly bad story.. An amazingly bad cast.. They probably just rented out the local strip club for this. All the jokes are totally not funny, oh wait let me think, wait wait, oh no, i'm pretty sure ALL the jokes suck monkey ass.. The only funny thing was awesome, but how many times has that been done already? Some parts are just filthy, that dad at school all the time? Come on! A(n) (really really ugly) teacher in lingerie? And I really hope i can help someone with this: DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! It's supposed to be like an American Pie movie, but something must have gone terribly wrong because it is more like a horror movie just because watching it is a horror.

I don't think the creators of this movie have ever seen a high school let alone attended one. The vice principal/ art teacher looks younger than some of her students. In fact, everyone in the movie looks close to 30, teachers and students, all except Gwen's dad who is probably 50 and really in porn. I've seen better acting in porn and not good ones, more like the Cinemax ones. I never thought I'd say this but Talan Torriero is the most talented actor in the entire movie. The cinematographer, director, and script supervisor must all have been on shrooms when creating this masterpiece. Their cars don't even have license plates. The main character is married and in high school and no one seems to know why. This train-wreck is Laguna Beach minus the acting, continuity, attractive youngsters, and interesting story. There is more male and female nudity and cursing than in any public institution in the country. And the lead character was caught having sex at school by everyone. Later she is in danger of being expelled not for this but for possibly being pregnant, which is VERY illegal. I don't see how anyone from this project could ever expect to be taken seriously again.

This movie sucks, don't waste your time or money.

Oh my god! I have never seen such an awful movie in my life, i wasted 1 and a half hours of my life that i will never get back. The acting is so fake, the jokes are not even funny & the best part the is the dad keeps on appearing in school like he owned the fkin school.

I would never usually even bother to come up here, register an account and submit an review about a movie. But this movie was so bad that i just had to do it, please stop making awful movies like this again! I would rather watch Hannah Montah the movie rather then watching this again, its really awful.

What happens when satire meets stupidity

This movie is supposed to be a satire/spoof of teen high school sex movies. In fact, the high school is even called "American High School." It's supposed to lampoon the other movies by going completely over the top, with every student being super-sexed, super-drama magnets. However, the movie lacks two key ingredients for a good spoof movie: wit and charm.

American Pie had both (which was why it was successful). The main characters were understandable enough that you actually wanted them to succeed. In this movie, all the main characters seem to suffer from multiple personality/bipolar/other mental illnesses as they will completely flip 180 digress from scene to scene. The best example of this is the "most popular guy in school/main character's husband"

Right in a row he: First rejects the main antagonists' "subtle: advances (and my subtle I mean she shoves him against a tree, tears off his shirt and offers him a bj). He calls her a dumb whore and ditches her. Then in the very next scene she offers him a ride and asks to go out to lunch with him and he accepts. Then in the next scene he's talking to his wife about how he asked the "dumb whore" out to prom and that he didn't think she (wife) would be upset.

Seriously...WTF?

And this isn't an isolated incident. At prom the husband is seen dancing and grinding against the "dumb whore", grabbing her ass and then in the very next scene is trying to apologize to the wife saying he misses her.

If they portrayed him as a chauvinistic pig like many of the other male characters, that would have been fine, but they tried very hard to portray him as a "sensitive, confused boy who just got married too young."

Anyway, the ONLY reason I can think someone should want to watch this is to see tits, and again you'll be disappointed. There is one scene where Nikki Ziering (age: 38) partially exposes her breasts so her art class can get "inspiration."

Here's a hint for all you adolescent boys, she gets more naked in American Wedding (she's Officer Krystal) and that's actually a decent movie.

B grade movie, B for bad

I don't know why the hell such a movie was created. This will surely corrupt the mind of the adults even. If you really want to watch go watch a Porn Title instead. This is going no where. I believe they were trying to do something like American pie and ended up with the worst movie I've ever seen. This is a disgrace to Hollywood and is this what we should think of the American culture? Someone might argue that this is just a funny movie, nothing serious. But believe me this is a waste of time. I didn't even watched it to the end. Simply because the the father and daughter relationship is heavily humiliated in this. I would not be surprised if the next title is about incest.

The greatest film ever made

American High School truly is the definition of classic American cinema. Not only is it though provoking and entertaining at the same time, it is one of the bravest films I have ever been privileged enough to experience. It was one of those rare diamonds in the rough, this film confronts sexism and the shows the way youth in America really is. Many people are too afraid to deal with the current issue of our youth getting betrothed or sex at such young age, but this film explores it in detail. The harsh realities of living in America today, have no where left to hide It is truly an enthralling and engaging cinematic experience, one you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. So please my friends, I implore you to take a few moments from your day and find the time to open your mind to a whole new world that you never before believed possible.

Very funny movie! I wish my high school days were like that!! definitely your typical high school, this movie is a winner. Filled with hot girls and plenty of laughs American High School was a great buy, I'll definitely be watching this one over and over. American High School is not for the light hearted though, this movie contains heavy sexual content and drug references hence this movies "R" rating. Although this movie is about and uses High School in it's title I would recommend this movie to be watched by adults only...unless you're a senior in High School, haha. Overall I gave it a thumbs up and would recommend it to other people to watch.

An high school movie

This movie makes two points very clear from the beginning: 1. This is a high school movie like American Pie(1999), but not nearly as good as, for example, College(2008). 2. It has no further purpose than to entertain, in which it barely succeeds.

What makes this movie worth watching it? Well, I'd have to admit I had a laugh or two. And the ladies aren't that bad in this movie. Furthermore, the acting isn't as bad as the plot. But still I would only recommend this movie if you're in for a bad flick, something that makes you appreciate the better ones in this genre (like the American Pie series) even more.

My judgement: Plot 1/10 Acting 5/10 Camera/editing/music 3/10

So my final score would be 3/10.

I have to say that the movie didn't quite live up to my expectations when viewing most movies, and the plot seemed pretty lost. I think they went wrong with trying so hard to mix in a bunch of successful movie techniques and by doing that ruined a lot of the story for me. I think with a bigger budget and maybe some direction this movie would have been decent. Even though there were parts that were hard to get though it had it's moments, perhaps accidental, that were generally funny. I have one thing to say to all those involved in making this movie: Nice try and better luck next time.(P.S. Don't listen to all the other naysayers, they're jealous that you guys made a movie! Be proud of yourselves)

I wish I could have been the first one to call this "American Crap Fest"

So here is another teen comedy, set in high school, with all the raunchy, sophomore humor that young audiences expect. Except that in this movie, some of the humor actually works.

It would be easy to say that this movie is a total mess and not to waste your time. The problem is that this movie is so badly made, that it actually crosses over into some strange new territory. It is so bad that I was laughing at how ridiculous it was, but at the same time, it felt like the filmmakers were in on the joke. It kind of went back and forth from being so stupid it was funny to just being stupid. Still, it had its moments...

The easiest character to enjoy was Kip Dick, the scuzzy dad who wants to stay young and hip. He dates high school girls and parties with the jocks, but makes time to nail the art teacher behind the dumpster as well.

Then there is the main character. She's the prettiest girl in school, but she's supposed to be a geek. The social studies teacher is a gump, but he is married to the playmate art teacher. The principal gets away with as much inappropriateness as Kenny Powers. One of the Pussycat Dolls is the queen bee. This movie is all over the place and almost as bizarre as a Chalie Kaufman story.

Say what you want about HSH, but it isn't predictable. I can't recommend it, but I had to watch it more than once just to believe I had really seen it.

Just What Were Aubrey O'Day & Jillian Murray Doing Here

i don't usually say this a lot but films like this kills more brain cells then alcohol or any other substance abuse does because films like this not only waste time and money but also works like a eraser for the human brains hard drive so if you have some good memories better avoid this at all costs,is there a script for this answer is hell no the director let all these people loose to do whatever they want,for people who look for nudity in these type of films will always fall for it American pie worked because it came at the right time and since then every single teenage or comedy films tried to ape it and failed bad even American pie's own sequels are not that great compared to the original.

so what makes this movie different none it is absolute zero quality below level it is so beyond insulting that it haunts the soul for weeks there is something called common sense before any artistic medium is used by any filmmaker out there for the project regardless if it stays true to its genre still if there are flaws it can be forgiven but at least such project should have a actual plot otherwise it is just stupidity.in what part of the world this type of high school is located maybe i like to check it out where students and having open sex and doing nonsense films like this that promote poking fun at an educational institutions should be banned.

the cast:what cast all of these actors are awful there are only 2 ladies that i liked and my god just what were they doing in this mess Jillian Murray is sexy but her role is useless & Aubrey O'Day oh god is she still in Danity Kane band or left it Aubrey got wasted her she should stick to music acting is not her game.

the plot:now let us just look at the story surprise surprise there is no story here its the same old stuff repeated we have seen it all except Gwen Adams gets married at a very young age the rest of the story is nothing new her dad is a shameless guy and every other guy in school wants to get laid with her this is basically the whole film.

men and women behaving badly what message this film gives is school and colleges are merely nothing but disco or cheap motels where people just come to fulfill their lust. i know its is for entertainment but there has to be some limit this one crossed it by miles,that school Principal is involved himself wow how cool is that.

Overall American High School 2009 is one of the worst film ever made categorizing this in any genre would be a sin and crime my rating is 1/10:Skipp It.

A weak attempt, but at least understand what it is trying for

This is a strange movie, as you can tell by reading the split in the reviews, but I think you have to understand that it belongs in the Glee or Strangers with Candy genre --- broad-brush satire that is well aware of how fake and silly it is --- not the Beverly Hills 90210 or Saved by the Bell earnest after school genre.

So the question, then, is how well does it perform within its genre? I think the answer is adequately, but not great. There are a few touches that are original and amusing, things like: the apparently deliberate choice of 30 yr old actors for the students, who therefore frequently can't be distinguished from the actors for the teachers. (This is even referenced/mocked at one point). Also the over-the-top awfulness of the wanna-be-cool Hollywood parent, or the lechery of the school principal. But overall the script is weak, not enough strong laughs, and some flat-out horrible scenes that are disgusting rather than amusing and that don't move the story along.

I'd say if you have some reason to study this particular genre (parodies of high school TV/movies) it's worth seeing for completeness sake; but if you simply want to be amused by the genre you're better off watching reruns of Glee or Strangers with Candy (or Glee Gone to College aka Scream Queens). There remains scope for a good movie in this genre. The best apparently similar movies (like American Pie) are more teenager than high school; and most of the specifically high school parody movies are more from the point of view of the teacher and too earnest, ala Sex Ed, or too sucky ala Bad Teacher; or are pastiche (High School High).

Everone got it on with everyone. The usual. Acting was awful.

Every event was over-done. The basics about high school were set fine, but then it was all just too exaggerated. The acting wasn't all that great for the most part. The girl drama between Gwen and Hilary just seemed so fake. It wasn't too funny. There were only a few scenes and characters who made me laugh. This film was super sexual, a little too much if you ask me. A dad marrying some chick from his daughter's school? Haha woah, right? Oh, the actors are quite attractive, again, for the most part. If you're super bored, you can watch it. Wouldn't imagine it being anyone's favorite movie. Surely wasn't mine. basically, it was a movie for teenagers, with nothing better to do, who wanted to watch everyone get it on.

Give it a try.

It's not "food for thought" or THE empowering movie of the decade. Let's be realistic, people. This movie has 1 objective - and it's to make you laugh. Does it succeed? Above & beyond!!! Give it a shot. There are worst things out there in the theaters.

::cough cough:: HANNA MONTANA, THE MOVIE. grossss. I think I just threw up a lil for typing it out.

Aubrey O'Day's performance was fantastic. Granted, she is already comfortable with being in front of the camera since her reality TV series "Making the Band" with P.Diddy and with being on the cover of last month's PlayBoy. ..so so so sexy.. She impressed me with her acting skills and please let's not forget Nikki Ziring CALIENTE performance. LITERALLY. lol

This film is a adolescent's dream since the plot has a high involvement of fornication. But the story stems from high school issues not normally discussed and brought up... like marriage.

Overall, American High School gets a B+ from me. It was fun, entertaining and hilarioussss!

what a great original film

First i will tell you what this film isn't, its not American pie 643 or road trip 100 its the same genre but is completely original and i liked it i found it funny in many parts and whilst watch a crap film i find my self doing other things on my laptop surfing at the same time but not with this film it was non-stop all the way through a great film i hope the creators of this film go on to make other films like this. throughout the film we got to learn all about the characters they all had there own personalities and played of each other very well my favourite obviously was Gwen but i also liked her dad too. This film makes you believe this is really what California is like just a crazy place like how californication does in a way. I would recommend renting this film to any one who likes the whole college high school type film and rate it right up there, Sean William Scott does not have to be in this kind of film to make it good.
