This episode is supposed to take place on the same day as Season 4 episode 24; however, the director's hair is now two inches longer.
When the director is in Abby's lab and deletes the search on Abby's computer, the keyboard is white, but when Abby goes to check her computer after the director leaves the room, the keyboard is black.
The maximum age for a special agent for NCIS is 37.
Jenny has a Glock. Gibbs gives her a magazine for a Sig. In episode "Internal Affairs", Gibbs compares a round from this magazine with the cartridge from the round which killed the Frog. A Sig magazine will not function in a Glock.
When the team arrives at the marina in the final scene, Gibbs draws his pistol just before he enters the gate. As he boards the vessel, he draws it again. This is not incorrect, nor a continuity error. What is cut out is Gibbs following a standard weapons-handling procedure of holstering his weapon before climbing the gangway on to the yacht. Moored vessels can easily move on the water and the gangway can shift dramatically making it unsafe to climb while holding a weapon. His approach to the deck level would have been covered by Tony from the marina path. You then see Ziva holster her weapon as she moves onto the gangway, ensuring that she too is safe and no member of the team is moving, unarmed, without support from someone else.
As the director is dropping Di Nardo's call in the top left of the screen you can see the date as Thursday March 7. Abby and Ziva had previously stated that they were at work on a Saturday.
Tony's Mustang as seen at the hospital has the front end of a 1965 model with a horizontal bar in the front grille and vertical front bumper guards. The destroyed Mustang has a 1966 "egg crate" grille without the horizontal bar and without the vertical bumper guards. Two different cars.
At the last scene, as the team first reach the yacht, a wide shot including dock and yacht, very clearly reveals a camera dolly (a ladder looking thing) on the dock. The dolly is a track to roll the camera equipment. And what could be considered another goof, the dolly disappears in subsequent shots of the dock. So even if you're not familiar with how the sausage is made you would still notice a ladder looking thing magically disappear.
Before Tony's car explodes, the team is in MTAC tracking him on "DC traffic cams". When Gibbs and the team arrive at the scene of the explosion, they approach the car, shot in slow motion. In the background is a clear shot of the U.S. Bank Tower - the tallest building in Los Angeles, where the scene was actually shot.
When the team is approaching Tonys' destroyed Mustang, you can clearly see multiple high-rises from the LA skyline in the background, even though the show is based in Washington DC.
When examining the lungs of the corpse believed to be Dinozzo, Ducky states that there is "penetrative and shrapnel damage to middle and lower left lobes" but there is no middle left lobe, there are only 2 lobes in the left lung, the right lung has 3 lobes. It is possible Ducky was referring to the middle right and lower left, but simply omitted the "right" as the right lung is the only one with a middle lobe.
