The Camp featured in the film is actually comprised of three different camps; Nature Camps, in Monkton, Maryland. Genesee Valley Learning Center, in Parkton, Maryland and Summit Grove Camp, in New Freedom, Pennsylvania.
In the movie, the camp is called Camp Warren Acres named after writer/director Mike Gutridge's favorite songwriter Warren Zevon.
The film is very much inspired by Mike Binder's "Indian Summer (1993)", Lynn Shelton's "Your Sister's Sister (2012)" and the original "Friday the 13th (1980)"
The plot from The Bone Garden, another film by writer/director Mike Gutridge, is mentioned in the bar scene right after Dean sings. Dean (Rick Scott) mentions a bunch of unsolved murders in a nearby college town and lake.
In the Closing Credits, Director of Photography Curtis Van Zandt and Editor Texas Mike O'Shea are both pseudonyms of Writer/Director Mike Gutridge.
