Director Matt Conant handed David Dallas the script, then walked away, afraid Dallas would refuse or be unable to perform required functions with his feet. When Conant returned, Dallas was ecstatic: "This is gonna be great," he said. "I have the ugliest feet ever!"
The only shot that used a "stunt foot" was the close-up where Chaz Henderson pulls the gun from his belt. The foot used was that of co-writer Ian Cockfield. In every other instance, David Dallas is holding his own feet in the air just off camera.
The entire film was shot in 18 hours. The crew showed up on set at 6am the morning of the shoot without the property secured beyond noon. Producers Matt Conant and Kerry Jean Norce bribed Steve Dukehart, the location manager for the day, to allow them to stay by offering him the role of the Judge. The shoot then went until midnight.
David Dallas and Amy Tiehel were only on set together for one hour in the middle of the day, when the showdown was filmed. The rest of Amy's footage was shot first, and David's footage shot afterward.
