Mind Blowing and Revealing!
creativeimagesbyjessica11 February 2021
A compelling film that explores a subject many are not aware of to the depths this film reveals. A artfully written work of fiction that will inspire you and invoke a curiosity to learn more about the historical facts about the practice of eugenics. Vega's talent to bring her vision to screen is nothing short of outstanding, from the writing, directing, talented actors to the beautifully crafted cinematography! This film really touched my own sense of humanitarianism and the power governments can have over humanity!

Powerful and Thought Provoking...
aloham827 January 2021
The Human Solution is a compelling story of what happens when governments decide to arbitrate who is worthy and who is not. A heart-wrenching story that will stay with you and force you to ask yourself -"How could this happen?". Vega has thrust us into the discussion about the practice of eugenics through her beautifully filmed and directed cast of characters. A must see!

Everyone is over 30 forever

Everyone is over 30 forever, very odd casting. Could have done as cinema, rather than theatre. For me there is too much overacting.

Mind you, the theatre is straight out of the Scandinavian tradition.

Half an hour I won't get back
andrewgreenwood-1143413 January 2022
I can only assume that the previous reviews were written by cast and crew. I don't know how this title made it to Prime. The cinematography, the acting and the script are amateurish to say the least.

I love fictional movies based on historical facts..especially when it's part of history I'm not aware of! The actors are spectacular! This movie draws you in as they relive the story of beautiful young women and their rights being taken away from Government control POWERFUL! This Subject Deserves a Better Film
Craftsman18008 March 2024
I would love to see a good film on this subject because it really deserves to be made. Lots of great films have come out of Sweden over the decades, but this certainly isn't one of them. Virtually every film element is uneven and alternating between OK to very poor, including acting, directing, the script, cinematography, and editing. The only two things of any merit are the subjectmatter and the setting in Sweden. Yet it really doesn't feel much like Sweden with all the actors speaking English for some reason. I never give a film a 10 or a 1 rating. Rarely give 9, and only for the very best. Likewise for low ratings, I don't easily dish out 2 or 3 star ratings. Since this was far from the worst film I have ever seen I will be generous and give it a 5 out of 10.

Heart-wrenching and Incredibly Moving! Highly Recommend!
acastro-3216027 January 2021
This movie really highlights the errors of the past, in hopes that they are not repeated. It leaves you thinking long after the movie has ended. Historical fiction at its best! I highly recommend this film - get ready for a powerful ride!

Beautiful & Moving Period Drama
rebvel-1929031 October 2021
This film about a little known ethnic cleansing program deals boldly with the impact of the policy on individuals and their families. It is a gripping and sensitive story. The locations and costume perfectly recreate the stiffness of the post WW2 period. Well acted and sensitively told, this movie was let down by poor editing and some clunky direction. Nevertheless it is a powerful evocation of the inhumanity of enforced sterilisation.

Powerful and moving - the type of film you carry with you
claetsch-2904128 January 2021
This movie is a piece of work everyone should experience. It forces you to reflect on society as a whole and how the choices we make impact the human experience. It's a beautifully made film and is one of those movies that sticks with you long after the credits finish.

Deals with an important ethical issue head on
mivey-3906011 February 2021
This is a well done dramatization of events in 1938 that could have very well happened - a well-intentioned doctor involved in determining who should procreate. Surprisingly this practice is still going on as recently as 2010. Some poignant moments in the film to bring the critical ethical issues to the forefront of our minds.

Wow... This film's subject matter is both scary & frightening. Fictional in it's writing, yet fact! I loved the cinematography, style and feel. The acting is superb, with each character building organically. Unknown's who all have a huge future as this film builds momentum. A must see!

Harrowing and Timely Histoical Drama Must See Film
drdominator1330 January 2021
This film first drew my interest when I saw it had been given permission to use the Reframe stamp, meaning it has demonstrated success in being a gender balanced production. When it started though, I was quickly taken by the visuals. the camera work is great, it is a really good looking film.

While Starting in pre-World War 2 Sweden and running into the 1950s, the subject matter is timely and relevant globally, and even today in the United States given recent revelations.

Without giving too many spoilers, Dr. August Persson works as a surgeon supporting a Government program. When he decides to raise a child that is not his after his estranged wife dies in child birth, his world is turned upside down when his daughter becomes entangled in the very program he is part of.

There are great performances by the leads - Dr Perrson and his daughter Elin, but also some scene stealers in the supporting cast. The assistant to the Minister and the Nurse ooze drama and suspense even in brief appearances. Dr. Persson's son Gustav also shines in his scenes.

Part Historical family drama, but more so, a timeless harrowing story of a man who is forced to confront decades of his past and his worldview, but only after he is personally affected. I will be looking for more from this filmmaker.

Hugely entertaining and factual film.
jakeparr-4084330 January 2021
Really interesting film. It is very well made, great acting and I love films with a bit of meaning behind them. This is based around actual events and highlights what seems a problem from the past still being around today.

Really enjoyable and recommended!

Riveting, Unnerving and Spellbinding!
desertbella19 February 2021
Before watching this film, I was completely unaware of the subject matter and from the moment the film began, I could not stop watching. I was pulled in by each one of the character's inner struggles that were portrayed so well by each actor. Beautifully written, directed and filmed by Mirtha Vega.

Dark and Poignant, But Powerful
swordarkeereon22 February 2021
This is a dark, poignant film. I enjoyed the tension and build up of the story. While the ending wasn't expected, it was fitting. Very good performances from the actors, and the script and directing were well done. This will be one of those movies that haunts me for years to come.

Thought provoking is an understatement
chrisscott-4698011 November 2021
This movie made me really question the control that the government has and have over us. It blew my mind to think that people were convinced that sterilization was a benefit to them. I really spent some time researching after this movie, because I had no clue this was happening. I'm convinced that these experiments are happening today just not in plain sight. Good movie and I appreciate the writers bringing awareness to this.

A shocking but powerful and great find on Amazon Prime
CineBuff8926 October 2021
I found this on Amazon Prime and I did not know a lot about this part of European history (apart from the Nazis) but, if it is appropriate to say, I really enjoyed this film and I was so glad I came across it. The content is shocking but it is important that people know about it. I hope it is suggested and recommended to more people. Full of actors I hadn't heard of too which was very refreshing and they were all great. Arthur Velarde as Jan was a great foil for the films dark content too.
