Brilliant story
amatorium30 January 2023
I had no expectations about this movie. Found it by accident.

It is a very sweet and charming story about all of us when we were kids and fighting with the system . Of course, many people will not understand it as they never fought anything in their lives.

Vergov proves to be a top actor after the movie Hristo.

I find story more touching than a lot of expensive productions.

Very original indeed. I need to add some more comments to be able to publish my opinion.

It's about life, death and teens.

What else I'm I missing?

The movie is a drama and shows you a modern way of the school system.

A Wonderful Elegy
neilor-15 February 2023
Petya of my Petya is a wonderful elegy that tells both about a modern girl facing the reality of the world and injustices, and about Petya Dubarova. The latter is probably unknown to people outside of Bulgaria - she is a poetess who died at only 17 and left beautiful poems, some of which sound in the film.

Julian Vergov is a little sketchy as a villain, but that's a minor problem. The treasure in the movie are the young actors. They play naturally, there is no theatrics characteristic of Bulgarian films and the action develops smoothly and captivates the viewer.

The sound is good and the views of Burgas and the sea are beautiful.

The movie is worth it, a well thought out and made movie.

Good idea, bad execution
alfadyr-3621228 February 2023
The movie attempts to explore the modern relevance of Petya Dubarova's story, tackling issues that are still relevant today.

Unfortunately, the movie falls short due to poor directing and an uninspiring script.

It tries hard to be meaningful, but the shallow plot makes it difficult to achieve any real depth. It's a good concept that has been poorly executed.

The poor directing and uninspiring script are major contributing factors to the movie's failure to explore the modern relevance of Petya Dubarova's story.

Furthermore, the characters are one-dimensional and their motivations are simplified. As a result, the movie doesn't create a meaningful dialogue about the issues it attempts to tackle.
