Again, well done
gawarof26 November 2019
I don't understand people's problem here. Half the people are butthurt of this episode for hating Heist films

Secondly , They really struggled when half the episodes were bad in Season 3, and now they're trying too hard?

Don't understand the criticism. The episode is probably the best charachter development episode they've done. Takes Vindicators like route but ends much more satisfying

Action in a fast pace
Alsoklms25 November 2019
The whole episode contained more plot twist than the two seasons of Westworld. Also the end of the episode shows a little more of how sometimes Ricks wants so badly things to be the ways he wants that's is willing to interfere in others people choice without them knowing.

My head exploded at a point in this episode.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the most faced paced episode so far this season. It has everything I love about Rick and Morty. While this episode is self aware of the genre it's making fun of, it has a slight commentary to Ricks relationship with Morty. By the end of this episode, it kindove puts the perspective of just how driven Rick is to prove someone wrong. While also showing how far he goes to teach Morty a lesson, that's all I'll say though.

Return of Mr. Poopybutthole + Elon Musk Cameo + Rick's quintessential devious plots = top-notch Rick & Morty. My favourite episodes in the series involve Rick doing the most for the simplest situations, and this episode was nothing short of that. Yes, it was a bit fast paced, but a super enjoyable breather from the continuity of the storyline.

Incredible Work Yet Again
JeffCWright25 November 2019
I had some doubts after the first two episodes (not that they were bad, but just that they weren't as great as expected).

But finally, we got a classic Rick and Morty episode that was equal parts funny and unique.

Looking forward to the rest of the season for sure.

What a masterpiece (spoilers)

Warning: Spoilers
Plot twist on plot twist on plot twist. I had trouble keeping up and had to pause the episode multiple times because I was laughing too hard. The last plot twist with Rick having planned everything to stop Morty from making a netflix movie and keep him on the adventures was just the perfect ending. Stop the complaining guys, just enjoy this confusing piece of art. Your episodes revolving around the Evil Morty storyline will come.

Why?
aminfadai26 November 2019
This episode was great. Why are some people unhappy with this episode? If this episode existed in seasons one and two, it would have earned at least an average rating of 9. I don't know why you're not optimistic about this season. This season has been satisfying so far and I hope it gets better in the future.

Masterpiece writing. Loved how the whole concept of the simulated sky also coincided with the guest star Elon Musk about simulation earth theory. Butthurt reviews probably never realized the show is a 4th wall breaker and care too much about the emotional moments, which are great and one of the best parts of the show but this was a standalone episode that made Rick a little more cold hearted to fit the style of the episode, giving the film within the show aspect. Rick is quite god mode now, but as hilarious and reckless as before. Loved the eastern egg off his robot arm from when his arm was bitten off by those birds from the land Rick created for Beth. It could be another whole arm tho, Rick must have so many augmentations at this point it's crazy and hard to know what to expect. I just don't understand the correlation of the title with the movie that is not about heist but about crazy people who were prisoners trying to get freed by a crazy Jack Nicholson, or maybe i do, cause that episode was crazy.

Unexpected, yet, creative
goalieur25 November 2019
As someone who regularly tends to enjoy episodes like "Tales from the citadel" which have a more serious / story driven tone ; I thought this episode was executed incredibly well. I think the versatility and creativity of the shows writers and actors really shined through without being forced, and the appearance of Elon "Tusk" was tasteful and applicable. Overall, I think this episode was well made for what it was; a parody of heist movies with great character design. I obviously have my own bias because i'm a big fan of the show, but for a filler episode it was original and satisfying ! I'm really happy to see the show not sticking to the status quo and constantly trying new things. I think most of the fans of the show will enjoy the ludicrous concept of the episode and the humor.

This is not good, this season so far is not funny
AviAv27 December 2019
I'm a big Rick & Morty fan. I mean really big. I've watched all the seasons several times. My favorite was season 3, I thought it was so original, brilliant and funny. In this season it feels like its a bit hard to follow the story because so much is going on, and at the same time its just not funny. Its just not funny. I dont know what happened, and I dont have any pleasure writing this. R&M was my favorite show, its feels like the writers have changed or something, because there is non of the funny-brilliant-original stuff that previous seasons have had.

Please do not push too hard!
masoud_ahmadi25 November 2019
I think the authors are pushing too hard in this season, which does not have a perfect outcome. The ideas are still great, but the implementation, hmmm no! The authors trying too hard to include everything in each episode, character developments, parallel story-lines, new characters and so many other things which all can not be included in just one 20-minute episode; they just should go with the flow!

Too complexity
d-7422929 November 2019
Emmm as a Chinese, this episode was too complexity even if we have Chinese captions below the screen. The faster talking speed along with the difficult plot, which made me dazed and hard to read the word meanwhile watched the image. Also, it made me so tired after watched it.

ps: please forgive me about my grammar mistakes, I have try my best yet.

Did not like it
patriklindqvist-7198326 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
They went to far. It escalated the same way that the episode with the parasites who convince them they are family members, which is one of my favorites, but without the charm and clever writing. This just felt sloppy and unfunny. Forced humour is never funny and the escalating plot twists were exactly that....forced.

Trying too hard
oscarehughes25 November 2019
It seems the creators of Rick and Morty have forgotten that being subtle is what makes this show so hilarious and smart. I knew from the beginning that this episode would feel like another episode from season 3, with obnoxious, clunky dialogue with bad references too overly complicated plot twists and turns ripped straight from The Matrix sequels. It's boring and painfully unfunny. This feels so far from the amazing episodes we got in the first two seasons and I hope they decide to write some good old fashion Rick and Morty adventures for the future.

great episode

Warning: Spoilers
For the fans of Brooklyn 99, this felt a lot like one of the Halloween heist episodes, other than that - lots of twists, great cameos, may not be what you expect from a Rick and Morty episode at first, but don´t let it distract you.

They abandoned so many plots
ericstevenson25 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode features Rick and Morty going to HeistCon, where people plan heists. Rick gets help with this from his new robot called Heistotron. Heisotron ends up double crossing him because he was programmed by Rick to do double crossing. Of course, he had switched the brains with the Randomtron so he anticipated that. Or did he? It ends by saying that Rick and Heistotron (or was that Randomtron?) argued for two hours about who was ahead of who, but Rick wins in the end.

It was nice to see Mr. Poopybutthole again. I had no idea he was a professor. Well, not any more. It's kind of heartwarming knowing that they have no bad memories of him. The plot gets too complicated but that's the joke. This was still a strong episode, if obviously hard to follow. ***1/2

Warning: Spoilers
Entire episode was making a point about how pathetic the heist genre is. that it is lazy and stupid. and i say they made a good point while making a better heist story then most. every bit that you thought unfunny was making a point about some aspect of it. and you get real-life Elon Tusk on top of it. what more do you want from TV? lol

Top form
sprochut25 November 2019
This episode had me either smiling or laughing the whole way through. I do like heist movies but this deconstruction of the genre and formulas was hilarious. Rick's zingers were hilarious ("Your boos mean nothing. I've seen what you like," "Every breath I take without your permission increases my self-esteem,"). So glad the show's back, just wish there wasn't a hiatus after 2 more weeks.

A convoluted mess... but that's the point.
maxglen30 June 2021
Originally didn't like this episode because of how all over the place it was but after a couple rewatches, I appreciate that's kind of the point. The whole episode is a satire on how awful and convoluting most modern heist thrillers are and it does that pretty damn well. It's not my favourite episode but it's certainly not a bad one. A strong 7 to a light 8.

Amazing episode. Feels a lot like the Law & Order episode of Community, Dan Harmon and the team had an idea for a genre shift episode that they could easily lampoon the conventions of to make an incredibly funny episode. May very well be in my top 5 episodes

Grand Theft Mort-o
southdavid9 December 2019
I'm starting to wonder whether individual episode reviews for "Rick And Morty" might actually be a mistake, as I'm going to end up writing the same stuff over and over again, generally about how spectacularly written it is.

Foiled in their attempt to raid an ancient alien tomb, Rick sets his vindictive sights on professional heist artist Miles Knightly (Justin Theroux). Rick constructs a robot to figure out Knightly's plan and to add one more level of deception to it, unfortunately, the now sentient machine decided that he needs to double-cross Rick and begins the ultimate heist, to steal the Earth.

I liked this one, the plot is very clever and the script is very funny. For once, the show has a specific target - specifically team heist movies like the "Ocean's" films and how stupid Rick and by extension the writers find them. The show builds twist on twist on twist until the resolution including the glorious idea of Rick's squad doing things entirely at random, because any sort of scheme would be out thought by the machine.

Less successful was Elon Musk's cameo, I thought the show ground to a halt during that scene, for an appearance that appears to be based only on the weak pun - and, to own up to my own bias, I find the man himself pretty distasteful.

Going down
chipsik-1635726 November 2019
This show went south so rapidly... Seasons 1 and 2 were mind-blowing, edgy, smart, whatever - simply amazing. Season 3 was still pretty good, but a little meh. Season 4 is just a mess, it can't blow any mind, it's not edgy (hey, even Rick stopped drinking and burping), it's not smart. But worst of all, it's not original, this episode in particular - parody is the opposite of creative and original!
