Reallyyy good suspense

If you're looking for suspense and murder mystery then this movie is for you. I won't say, it is the best or one of the best movies but it isn't bad at all. It kept you edge of the seat whole time and keep you guessing.

The movie evolves with a man whose wife is murdered and his best friend is caught in charge of murdering. On the other hand,his friend's wife begins begging for her husband and tries to convince him. Somehow,he is convinced and he along with her begin looking for evidence to prove his friend's innocence. He started digging for evidence and finds out a unknown man video footage who came to his house, the day when the incident occured. He also finds out more than he excepted to be found. His wife having affair with his own best friend and his friend's wife also knew about their affair.

So,Who really killed his wife? Is it really his friend! Then why?

Again who was the man that came that day?

Keeps you guessing

THE CULPRIT is an intricate little puzzle of a murder mystery, told in a single apartment (albeit with copious flashbacks) and with a small cast of important characters. It begins with a woman's bloody murder and then takes us through a story of suspects, cops, investigators, grieving partners, loyal wives and plenty of skulduggery and subterfuge. The plot keeps you guessing constantly and I admit that I was hoodwinked by the final outcome; another Korean thriller that does the job, then.

Not outstanding but decent plot

When I started watching this film I thought this will make my mind disturbed like other Korean thrillers but I somehow guessed the climax. This movie goes around a man finding his wife's killer. This movie could be more engaging. I would lastly say if you have time give this a shot!

Decent Thriller

South Korea has really carved out a place for themselves when it comes to making suspenseful thrillers and this film slides nicely into that niche.

After coming home to find his wife murdered and his best friend subsequently arrested for the crime, a man sets out to find out the truth of the matter. The best friend's wife is also on a mission to see her husband set free and is desperate for the man to speak up and clear her husband's name. The truth may set them all free from their torment or it could reveal things they'd rather not know.

The film is well constructed and moves along at a steady pace keeping the viewer engaged. The actors are all skilled and portray their characters with realistic emotion and drive. The plot is not a new but the ride is still interesting and thought provoking. The suspense builds nicely throughout.

I'd recommend this to people who like a decent whodunnit. It will have you guessing and trying to work things out and you may even figure things out before the reveal. I did but I still enjoyed the film.

An average film with average acting

Reminded me of a long and drawn out soap opera.

There were some good moments but other moments were so long and drawn out. I mean, how long does it take you to open a door? When the police came at the end because the woman said she was being attacked, I mean, would they just bang on the door and wait to be let in? Also, how inept are those cops and Korean justice? As for the lead actor, OMG, I just wanted to slap him and say, "Dude, man up you wimp!"

The film was a bit disjointed with its 5 months before, 2 weeks later type style and the plot was a bit daft. Bordering on the side of 'not really possible' just for the sake of being different. Wouldn't really recommend this. Korean crime films are normally very good but not this I'm afraid.

Casting is good

Victim's husband moved in six month after the case is closed. Washed the house thoroughly and get his house back in shape. I stopped watching when he reconstruct the murder scene later. Doesn't make sense at all.

Story of a guy trying to find his wife's murderer and finds out more than he should. The good part is when the plot goes to a point where every character is suspicious of being the culprit, including himself. keeps you guessing. but seriously, who would jump towards someone who hurt themselves after all the screaming and accusing? if i was him at that moment that the cops rush in, i'd just stand there, which is like 2 meters away from the 'victim' as the cops see how the 'victim' holds the weapon using her own hand and me standing far away. after that scene the movie rating drops from 6 to 3 stars. im the kind of person who sees a kid falls down near me and not rushing over to save him/her so i wont get accused by the parents for causing the incident and get in trouble. honestly, im not wrong. not socially acceptable but not wrong.

Victim and Culprit

No pun intended - for the police it is not easy to know who did what ... especially when the crime scene is not easy to ... well read or investigate. And when the police is unable to do their job (right), the husband of the woman killed seems to think he can take affairs in his own hands (no pun intended) ... and solve the mystery ... well if his head is still screwed on the right way by the time this is over ... he did not have issues to follow the twists and turns this takes.

Very well done, with timeline jumps (forward and backward), to tell us what happened and who was where ... when. Also who did what ... will justice be served? And were you able to figure out who did it? A lot of mayhem, especially towards the end ... with me being unsure who to trust and what to believe ... but be assured, the movie will tell you and give you answers ... you may not like them or how they are resolved ... but they are there ... really good thriller to say the least.
