Kelly alludes to the title of The Postman Always Rings Twice, by saying to himself that he only "rang once this time, huh?" However, it's unclear which version Kelly would be making a play on words about: while it would very likely be a reference to The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), which was released just five months before this episode aired, Kelly's love of old time movies, seen throughout the programme, could mean that it was a remark inspired by The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946).

Goofs
When Kelly climbs back onto the "stone" pillar balcony at the party, the noise his foot makes when it collides with it gives away the fact that it's clearly a much lighter material.
