New character, Zane (a snarky, genius, convicted felon) joins the townsfolk of Eureka this week and the result is fresh and funny and smart. The crisis of the week requires the input of more than the usual number of scientists and the lead of the lot is also a lovely and welcomed addition. The overarching season plot is lightly touched upon, but to an endearing (and not overwhelming) end. As the plot does not follow quite the same formula that other episodes have thus far and the with better (read, more natural) guest stars than usual, the composite episode is a real winner.
