Great story, but not fulfilled the way it started
OJT28 April 2012
Not usually my pick of film this, but I was fascinated while switching on the telly, seeing a start which reminded med of great stories like "Stepford Wives", "Pleasantville", "The village" or a story of Roald Dahl.

This family feature film has a great idea, and some of the scenery as well as the set is great. But halfway through we can see that the writing should have been better.

Actually everything here is great, except the fact that you get annoyed by the story the further it goes. Simple too silly, and not in any way realistic, and in the end not even the slightest bit funny.

However, kids will like the story, though probably have a lot of questions after-wards, due to the silly ending. OK, it's a happy ending, never the less silly, or running out in nothing.

I think kids are intelligent watchers of movies, don't make a story like this sillier because of them. When that is said, a lot of things in this film is actually great ideas, and the acting is also great. The setting is also brilliant, but there's not done enough out of it.

It gets a 6 out of 10 for all that, and loses the rest due to bad writing. If it were a story for grownups, it would have been 3 out of 10.
