Not so bad but...
Lilyum_23 January 2020
The movie wasn't great but not terrible either. The problem is, it doesn't tell much anything more than it's trailer, like it's the long version of the trailer.

Interesting, worth watching
msafarovinfo21 February 2021
I really enjoyed my time watching this movie. Especially the tiny jokes, the differences in characters and the filming was very good. The story is not a breakthrough or unexpected, but the overall filming was good. I think the important and the good side here was not the story, but the acting, roles and the inside dialogues. Overall, it is warm, worth watching film.

I couldnt understand what people saw to hate
sevgiler_sevgi26 June 2020
It's a feel good movie. Easy watching, heart warming etc. Also includes giggly jokes in it. But I saw especially Turkish people hated it in comments. I really couldnt understand why people hate this film that much. I can understand some but it is many. I watched it twice. My opinion didnt change. Cast is brilliant. Hümeyra is definetely a legend. I cant take my eyes of her. Story is also nice. Thanx for my 4 hours yet. (Since I watched it twice)

Very Disappointing
defneshk14 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"Biz Boyleyiz" was so disappointing that it urged me to write my first ever review on IMDB. Being a fan of Caner Ozyurtlu and Meliksah Altuntas' YouTube channel I had high hopes for this movie. Considering their very impressive knowledge of cinema, I was expecting to see a reflection of their insight into their work. So what is so disappointing about the movie? It is extremely poorly written and poorly acted. There are too many characters all of whom are one-dimensional. Plus, they are all unlikeable. Despite trying very hard, I didn't sympathize with any of them (well, maybe Nezis but I questioned why she would put up with these immature and obnoxious people). Emre, played by Berrak Tuzunatac, was by far the worst. Tuzunatac's acting is WAY over-the-top and her character is underdeveloped. Gokce and Emre seem like the same person but from the opposite sex. They are both immature, antipathic, and selfish. The "romance" between the two is again, underdeveloped and poorly written. We don't know why they are in love nor do we get to see the connection between them. I think the movie could be easily improved by getting rid of some of the characters. For example Mesut and Candas, why are they even there? They serve ZERO purposes. As it is, the movie seemed more like a friendly gathering between the actors than a well-written story about death, friendship, and love. There were some attempts of adding more depth to the characters with Dolunay (Sebnem Bozoklu) revealed to be sterile which seemed very forced. It was a bit like, "yeah she is rude because she can't have a baby"! But then what about the other 7-8 people, why are they so insufferable? Humeyra, Boran Kuzum, and Meric Aral were wasted in this mess of a movie, which I think is a shame. To end this rant/review, I will say that this is a movie that doesn't know its own premise or genre. Why was this movie made? It is not funny nor deep. I remember watching Ozyurtlu roast "Ulan Istanbul", but I don't see how this movie is any better than the tv series. Not recommended to anyone, it is boring and a waste of time.

Not a standard comedy movie
endoplazmikretukulm12 January 2020
This movie has many scenes that make you giggle but also has many more romantic, dramatic scenes as well. Some camera moves and story twists make you feel that you don't just watch a comedy movie that it's obvious creators put hell amount of effort and thoughts in it.

Disappointing
RealOmerCetin15 June 2020
This one is just one of those movies that want to become something good but can't. You can't do everything in one movie. What motivation was this movie had? What did it tell us for 120 minutes long? And why did the movie waste its twist at the end? What character arc did you develop? There were pointless, unnecessary actions all along the movie. It was like 5 year-old kids playing in the park and nothing more.

Also bad acting. Boran Kuzum and Meriç Aral were kinda nice. Other cast was just doing their regular no emotional and memorised act.

In the middle of the movie, at some point Serdar Keskin joins the scene. Almost 30 seconds of screen time. A lot better than the main cast.

And this is a comedy tagged movie. A comedy? Really?

4 is just for beloved Hümeyra and cinematography (just for a bit).

Edit: I saw that some people said "You should not expect much from a movie.". Well, you just give your time for a movie. You can do a lot of things with that time. And if a movie just ruins that precious time of yours, you would complain about it.

An Ok Movie
tassaadet22 January 2020
Unexpectedly good performance from Caner Özyurtlu. Not a disaster but yet, not a great movie. Character developments are not satisfactory. Repeated stories became boring.

A waste of time full of clichés!
facalisifiralti15 June 2020
The movie (if it can be called a movie, of course) has no limits when it comes to using clichés. Oh, I must appreciate the house though because it was the best actor.

Not so interesting!
farzanehpournaeim13 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It was full of repeating circle of events which were suspensing throughout the film leading no where. At times it was fun but towards the end of the movie it got boring. I mean it didn't have anything new to add to the characters so it maintained the same rhythm. Mainly it was focused on two main characters who can't even start a relationship and the reason remains unknown. So the other main characters stay neutral and have too little to show. overall I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because it felt like a total waste of time.

Needs a fair judgement
beethecracker-3967922 June 2020
This is a feel good movie. Just expect to have light fun and enjoy the beautiful scenary in Urla, Izmir in the Aegean coast of Turkey. There's good acting as well as a cliché but fun scenario. Good rhythm, clean execution, very to the book scenario writing & montage. Yes, it is not a breakthrough in cinema, but the reviews need to be a bit fair here, it's not a bad movie at all. Smeels a lot like 90s.

2 points of Hümeyra's sake. Boran Kuzum and Meriç Aral were fine. But the movie is not worth watching after all.

Meh
athawolsux23 January 2020
A group of obnoxious people meet at their sick grandmother's home (or something). As days go by, tempers fray, relationships are strained and secrets buried in the past start to come out.

Except none of it really matters because the lack of proper backstory and character development coupled with the total absence of concrete details about the context makes it impossible to become invested in the characters. The movie attempts to become an emotional rollercoaster slash tearjerker in the second half, and fails.

Cinematography, shot composition and lighting make the whole thing feel like a 2-hour-long commercial, which further detaches the story from grounded reality and lessens its emotional impact. Some good scenes and a few unexpected twists towards the end. Otherwise, a very derivative and soulless movie full of obnoxious characters (except for the grandmother).

Mediocre performance
edasyler14 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is suprising that the film has good casting but having mediocre performance. We just watched Gokce and Emre's uninteresting story. Did anybody laugh at Berrak's jokes? It is iritating, too.

Beautiful coming-of-age movie
teoyrs12 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I personally loved this movie. Firstly, I loved the way it was made. I liked the cinematography, the sceney, the way it was shot. All the other Turkish movies I have seen had the vibe of an indie movie, so it was good to see something else, something fresh. Secondly, I loved the attention that was given to details and the beginning-end simmetry. To me, the events that occured between the two phone calls that the characters received represented something that was mandatory in order for them to be able to move on, to understand one another as adults and to grow. I loved that it all happened within this "universe" that began and ended with the phone call. It meant that they were ready to go on with their lives, let go of the past. The actual ending of the movie was only the beginning of their new lives, new selves. I liked that when Nezis and Emrah are talking in the garden, she compares him to a flower, which we later see him watering, when they all gather at her house after they had visited her resting place. Again, I believe that this was a sign of the development of the character - he was somehow watering himself and her memory, the expectations she had of him, he was growing. Moreover, the plot is about more than a teenage love story that finds its way into adulthood. It presents the way people deal with the inevitable death of a loved one and how we overlook the efforts others do for our comfort. I believe that Yulduz was a pivotal character, although she was not a main one. We permanently see her in the background, working, even when our characters are relaxing. Even they were surprised at how many dishes she could carry, which was just a way that symoblised how much she was doing for them. After her death, Nezis said that she had always told her to take a break, which is what the kids always told her. I liked how the movie touched upon the topics of hoe women treat other women because of men (the girls don't like Emre because Gokce makes her look like a liar twice: when it came to him cheating on her and when he had lied about the duration of his and Beril's relationship) and how growing apart changes us as human, that we become different people than the children who were friends and that when reunited with old friends, we must get to know one another again. Although I felt that there was need for a little more back story about Emre and Gokce, about why she was not invited to the group's reunions and why she was lying about her job position, the movie was definitely worth-while. It has good humour that will definitely make you smile, but it is more than a regular rom-com.

Worst ever
semih-akbas12 June 2020
Worst scenario, worst acting, unnatural characters. Somebody should teach Berrak not to over-play her roles. Her mimics are always to big, her movements are exaggerated. Really nothing to say about the movie. Transitions between the emotional scenes are so amateur. Whats left from the movie is acting of Humeyra...

I've just watched the movie without any expectations and I'm glad I did that way. Dialogues were too weak and acting could've been better.

This is a terrible examples of popular Turkish Cinema(!)
gokaygedik-1849516 June 2020
When the writers were creating the screenplay they hit constantly 2 buttons: 1- Cliches 2- Plot Twist There is not even a story or anything important about the characters. It's so easy to observe that they wanted to invent a problem while writing the script. Everything about this movie is cheesy. Better avoid it.

Actually I liked all the actors&actresses but Berrak Tüzünataç. She was the worst in all cast. Story was not brilliant but it was ok to watch the whole movie. The directing skills was the best.
